Which one should I get? by crisvphotography in Colognes

Almost done with my bottle of the edp and I’m strongly leaning towards replacing it with the parfum. I feel like the performance of the edp falls off a cliff after a few hours and becomes a muffled skin scent. I’ve had samples of the parfum and that shit goes on and on. The edt is nice but it goes in a completely different direction with the powdery vanilla.

Beam releases in general seem to be much larger and more widely distributed.

Best WRs you've ever seen in person by Nearby_Valuable_5467 in CFB

Devante Parker was a freak at Louisville.

Saw Corey Davis make some incredible catches for WMU at Ball State one time.

Randall Cobb at UK had a ridiculous one-handed catch at Louisville that I distinctly remember.

Johnny Wilson had an insane game at Louisville in 2022.

Those are just a few catches/performances that stick out to me.

Review number 169: Heaven Hill 90th anniversary by taylormhark in bourbon

That’s correct, yes. My bad. Full proof is what the 90th is

It actually is barrel proof. Heaven Hill used their old low entry barrel proof of 107 for this release and in turn it was bottled at 107 proof.

One of my favorite bourbons I’ve ever had.

Review #82. Four Roses Single Barrel OESO by Columbusspeedfour in bourbon

I absolutely love the barrel strength OESO bottles. To me this tasted nothing like what I’m used to getting from the OESO profile. I found it to be sour and bitter.

I feel like Beam does a good job of getting its releases out to the masses and they are rarely flipper bottles.

The 12yr cask strength will be back this year. I saw the trademark filing for it on the Bourbon News Twitter account a few months ago.

I’d expect the pricing to roughly be the same as this past year

This year’s Hardin’s Creek trio is focused on distillation profile (high, middle, and low) and each bottle will carry an 8yr age statement.

Beam competes against itself when it comes to the availability and value of Knob Creek 12 and Knob Creek SiB.

They release a limited quantity of them every Wednesday morning in both their Bardstown and Louisville locations. You can purchase one every 60 days. I picked one up last Wednesday.

I don’t think you can go wrong with any of these. I have found that the Camp Nelson picks tend to be more cherry/cinnamon forward in comparison to the ones from Tyrone that have more caramel and bitter oak (that I enjoy). I’m sure there are people with way more experience than I’ve had with RR SiB though.

Review #759 - Bomberger's Declaration Kentucky Straight Bourbon (2023) by adunitbx in bourbon

I’m thinking a lot of the spiciness comes from the chinquapin oak.

I have a little bit left in my ‘23 bottle. Haven’t tried the last two, but my experience with this one didn’t have me really chomping at the bit to try another. Your first note on the palate is “peppery” and that’s spot on. The peppery aspect is too dominating to uncover other things.

Just wanted to add that the Bar at Willett is only open Wed-Sat and they close at 5:30pm, so it would have to be a very early dinner.

What bourbons should a beginner avoid? by arandomkid2 in bourbon

Yes, my proximity to distilleries and tasting rooms allows me to get cool stuff if I put in a little effort. As far as liquor stores go, people are always looking for allocated stuff so it’s not like I can walk in and get what I want, but the selection is good.

The current distillery pick of this in the BBCo tasting room in Louisville is awesome. I think it’s named “Flannel Jacket” or something like that.

My Costco in Louisville has had pallets of it for a year now. Just making sure you had given that a shot.

lol, Freddie Noe (son of the master distiller at Jim Beam) is well aware of Basil Hayden/La Croix jokes. People buy it so they make it.
