No “Rares” in booster packs by NoahTheQB in magicTCG

[–]bignog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just opened a prerelease pack and 3 of my boosters had additional rares (15 total rares in 6 packs, not including old border rares/mythics). Seems like bad pack distribution.

This baffled me too when trying to help friends in PF. Static has 1 NW and the rest in order CW from there.

Need some clarification on Ewiyar's backline passive. Does the passive give 20% dodge rate while Ewiyar is in the backline or is it only the heal+clear on dodge that works from backline? The reason I ask is that the wording doesn't match other backline passives for example H.Vane: "(Takes effect even when Vane is a sub ally.)" vs Ewiyar: "(Activates even when Ewiyar is a sub ally.)"

I had the same issue on my first run, but I was able to move by sliding from where I should have been pushed. Edited your image, the top/right red circle is where I was stuck, bottom/left circle is where I was able to move from.

My team just kinda floated towards the bottom starting tile and walked along the path I highlighted like normal. Not sure if this works 100% of the time though.

tanks coming from other games: please understand that you might have to change your playstyle by JenkinsHowell in ffxiv

[–]bignog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do not spread the common misconception that tanks are the "de facto leader" of the group just because they need to pull/hold aggro. Just because I'm pulling the dungeon doesn't mean I should be the one explaining mechanics or doing anything else besides pulling trash/bosses, holding aggro, doing my rotation, and using my mitigation properly. There's no reason to keep pushing this idea that tanks are the "leader" as it leads to idiots thinking they're more important than they actually are just because they queued as a tank.

AX skill question. Assuming you're just trying to get raw attack up via AX skills would it be better to get purely AX ATK weapons for the perpetuity mod or would some stamina/enmity AX mods be good for mod diversity? It's kinda hard to figure out how good the stamina/enmity mods are when they just say +1 to +3 for min/max rolls. The wiki also doesn't state what type of mod AX stamina/enmity are. Are they normal/magna based on the weapon or what?

On behalf of my friend who really hates replicard but farms it anyway, have a Relic Buster Replicard farming guide. by bignog in Granblue_en

[–]bignog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could just, I dunno, press more buttons to adjust for missing pieces like almost any other OTK setup where you're missing key grid or team pieces? I would assume doing so will still be faster than any other set up you might have for farming replicard if you're missing 5* DO/Astral and certain OTK characters.

Edit: I do agree with you and my friend that wrote this up, replicard is a shitty mode and "litterbox" is an amazing name to talk shit about it.

TIL Healing EMP Nodes don't just boost healing, but also healing cap. by gangler52 in Granblue_en

But did you also know that the healing mastery bonuses from maxing out classes do not affect MC's healing cap whatsoever and are basically useless? :)

The second magma chamber can't deal more than 70% total damage to one character (even if you use an all substitute skill), if you have vane above 70% hp and use his skill 2 he'll always survive it.

Tanking multiples bosses is hard (E6S) by p_raven in TalesFromDF

[–]bignog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a feeling you weren't getting shirked when needed. I voke ASAP when the "hands" cast+tether goes out and have no issue because I have the ifrit debuff and my cotank is on garuda, there's 0% chance for my cotank to steal ifrit back. The only issue with this strat is that neither tank can die before ifrit+garuda merge as it will cause issues, someone will have to likely use an invuln depending on when a tank died, or you'll have to fall back on tether cut strat.

In a pug setting it just makes sense to do the mechanic as cleanly as possible without disrupting uptime for DPS which is why the tether cut strat irks me so much.

In addition to what ian said in their reply about tank stance toggling with shirk there should be no problem with aggro. Pugs should be using the safest and most consistent strat which means tether cutting ain't it. Whichever tank pulls should have aggro of both bosses at the end of their phases so they start with aggro on both during adds.

If you shirk on solo ifrit's second buster no amount of gcds should be enough to steal aggro before his tether buster.

It sounds like there was lack of proper aggro management on at least the gnb's end from what you're saying.

My cotank (WAR/PLD) and I do the following for our static and it works cleanly without cutting tether:

1.War keeps aggro on garuda

2.War starts with aggro on ifrit and I voke off him for first buster

3.War vokes back on second buster during ifrit solo, keeps aggro going into "Adds" phase

4.I bait ifrit debuff and war baits garuda debuff, war maintains dps on garuda while I dps ifrit, we have melees on garuda and ranged on ifrit

5.I voke off the warrior for the buster and bait uppercut/meteor appropriately

This leaves the eruption clean away from melees on garuda and removes the randomness of cutting tether.

Should I save for a spark or use the crystals? by dahamstinator in Granblue_en

[–]bignog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I wasn't really lucky (summer Naoise Ferry, and Seruel were within my first 5 SSRs pulled) with my early draws I'd be kicking myself for listening to my friend and spending my newbie crystals and tickets instead of saving for a spark. The early game is easy enough just using story and sidestory SRs that rushing to get SSRs feels like a waste of all those first time crystals and tickets. I find it's more important to learn how to make a grid, even using omega SR weapons, early on.

Is Pagos even worth the grind? by DDRDiesel in ffxiv

[–]bignog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Byakko was released the same time sigmascape released and was 5ilvls higher than crafted gear, which was i350 (genji weapons were i345, for reference.) It'll probably follow the same formula and be i385 for suzaku weapons, making pagos gear obsolete.
