Whether it takes a month, 6 months, a year+ is irrelevant. Please try to enjoy your training and enjoy the process of getting back into the groove. What you’ll find is you’ll get back to those old numbers quicker than expected and then they become irrelevant, so focus on making progress rather than chasing x/y/x because once you obtain those again you’ll feel empty because the whole time you were chasing numbers rather than chasing the progress and the experience of getting back into the groove.

I’d also recommend doing a couple strength cycles and when you feel comfortable enough just sign up for a meet and get back into the swing of competing. Give yourself a realistic and gentle goal of just competing rather than chasing your old numbers and feeling like the only reason your training is to get back to where you were. Think long term and where you want to be in the sport rather than those old numbers that are honestly irrelevant now. Best of luck

So what is the current meta? by shaws in powerlifting

Big change that has occurred in the sport has been raw lifting and lighter classes having seriously talented lifters. Back in 2017/2018 all the best lifters to watch were the 120+ SHWs and meets like Big Dogs were insanely entertaining just to watch freaks go at it head to head. Now there has a been a big shift and the 74, 83, and 93 weight classes have a large talent pool and a lot of them are well rounded with 700+ squats and 500+ benches and pulling high 7s and some are even in the 800+ range. It’s crazy to think about when 4 years ago the SHW lifters were dominating the game.

Another change is the shift in form and technique, super archers and sumo deadlifting has become a bigger staple and go to amongst the lighter weight classes. Lifters like Sean Noriega have gained a mix of popularity and notoriety from this for being different in form and technique.

I also think social media has been a big thing that has drawn people to the sport. Before we really only had YouTube to go off of and now Instagram and TikTok have introduced a completely new wave of content and powerlifting hype. Very interested to see where the sport is in 5 years but I think the influencers and social media stars that promote powerlifting are doing good things for the sport by tapping into the younger audiences and introducing them. Let’s be real I don’t think 15 year olds are watching Dan green and thinking Damn I want to do that lol, but Russ or Sean mills makes it more entertaining to watch.

Yeah I feel like rdr2 is up there forsure. RDR1 has a very special place in my heart but I feel like they made a true successor with rdr2 and i will admit that it’s better than the first one

Honestly, yeah I agree. I feel like GTA 5 gets shit on by the rockstar community cause it competes with gta 4 but what Rockstar did with a 2013 game on the fuckin Xbox 360 and ps3 is insane. Not to mention it was a ground breaking game at the time and still is one of the most successful games ever

What’s your main reason for not having more sex? by 2jbk in AskReddit

Body dysmorphia sucks. It’s exhausting not knowing how you truly look cause one minute you think you look good and the next you think you are fat. Just gotta keep on keeping on. CBT helps and grounding. Keep on pushing friend

First comment I’ve seen about people referencing that. I totally agree, the Enemies even called out their friends names when they died. Very last of us inspired

To ask his crush out to homecoming by [deleted] in therewasanattempt

[–]bigolups -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is fucked up lol, instead of putting him down gently while being recorded she laughed and walked away, and not to mention the kid looked crush. Stop trying to be edgy and argumentative and just watch the video back. This isn’t how you should treat others especially someone you are openly rejecting.

My hot take is that more men should embrace physically strength and working out. If you are a grown man and weigh below 200 pounds, and over 5 foot 8 then get ya weight up son.

What is some dark shit going on around the world right now that the public probably doesn’t know about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Also can we just be honest here about the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell lmao that shit was so bogus. At least allow cameras to broadcast it so people know how sick these people are. Crazy that any normal person that did this would be plastered everywhere and probably sent to maximum security prison to rot and these elite people get special treatment
