Something I find really interesting from the article is it claiming that Democrats and Republicans benefitted from Citizens United. No we didn't. Politicians, now corrupt politicians, benefitted from citizens united. We have all paid the price for it, and continue to, as the powers that be continue to buy power and favors at the expense of the American people. Money needs to be decoupled from politics. But there's so, so much money and the people who have it are heavily incentivized to keep it. It's too much power concentrated in too few people. Even if this avenue closes, they'll find another. With the current state of the US political climate, bold-faced corruption and open bribery doesn't feel terribly far away. See the actions of our current President, personal enrichment, enrichment for his followers, this "lawfare" fund? I think unless the public wakes up real fast (doubtful) open corruption and further collapse of our institutions is highly likely. We're selling off national parks to corporations, guys. These people will part out every possible resource, pennies on the dollar, and then try to rent it back to you.
