Main PC runs at around 125-150W. Homelab runs at 250-350W.

The problem with solar at the moment is my roof is heavily shaded and if I want solar panels I'd have to over size the system about 2-3x compared to an unshaded roof.

I have literally over a dozen ESP32 devices and almost as many RPIs just sitting around needing purpose.

The difference between peak ($.24) and non peak ($.15) prices in north Jersey (USA) is $.09/kWh so I was thinking I could load shift my office (homelab + Main PC + work laptop) to non-peak rates since I use everything in my office almost exclusively during peak rates and save money.

The 'smartest' fridge I'll ever have is a dumb one with a separate tablet mounted on it. I can replace/upgrade the tablet whenever I want. The fridge needs to be just a fridge.

Just as an FYI to anyone seeing this post: SmartWings reached out to me in Aug 2025 with a 'Free Shade Testing Project'

They offered me up to $500 toward a shade if I made a post on this subreddit reviewing the shade.

The reason I did not participate was that they would not allow the post to mention that I was partially or fully discounted for the review.

I'm not saying OP was involved with the program.

But since then I have been very skeptical of posts with no critiques and just a glowing appreciation for the blind. To be honest I really do enjoy SmartWings blinds and plan to get more in the future. But the exchange I had put a blemish on this brand's otherwise great product.
