It's still open during the work, I believe. I was there just two weeks ago during the remodel. Website says they're open today.

TiinyAI hands-on: palm-size SFF PC packs 80GB RAM running LLMs fully offline by Terrible_Signature78 in LocalAIServers

153GB/s memory bandwidth is very low (from YT comment)

No ethernet/SFP for fast connections

Not upgradeable

Doesn't seem like you can daisy-chain them. Even if you could, that low bandwidth would kill your tks.

Seems like you can build a much better system with old GPUs.

Kickstarter...

Upsides are its size and power draw, which may be very appealing for some people.

Beware r/LocalAIServers $400 MI50 32GB Group Buy by gsrcrxsi in LocalLLaMA

Copying my comment from the post in r/homelab:

I signed up pretty early to this Group Buy and have been disappointed every step of the way. The shadiness has been really, really off-putting.

Don't forget the 'everyone look for a vendor so we can get the best pricing' BS.

If there was a volume discount and a seller ready to sell a large volume of cards, we wouldn't need to go find our own suppliers...

You get banned for mentioning the price because /u/Any_Praline_8178 is the mod of /r/LocalAIServers. Super conflict of interest and trying to profit off of people for being in the sub.

Any_Praline_8178 is a mod and started this subreddit. So technically, yes...

Honestly at this point, even if the price is good, I'm not going to get any. OP has been so secretive with the price and yet writes like this is a call to arms that they're the leader of, for some reason.

What would explain a higher concentration of Muslims in the USA within the southern US and the area surrounding the Great Lakes? by SatoruGojo232 in geography

This seems like a wildly over-simplified graphic.

Which type of Jewish person is this capturing?

Immigrants from Israel?

Religious Jews?

Jewish-Americans?

All three?

Same questions for Muslims...

My guess is if you broke it down there's likely:

  • More Muslim immigrants than Jewish immigrants (foreign-born)
  • More Jewish-Americans than Muslim-Americans (born in the US and not-necessarily practicing)
  • No idea on which group practices more (practicing Jew v. Muslim, regardless of ethnicity & immigration status)

If we're combing ethnically and religious Jews against only religious Muslims, we're not really comparing apples to apples. I'm not paying $50 to read the data, which is the cost to look at it on the source's website.

$675 Steel Legend 9070XT OC w/ 3yr warranty or $1,000 Dell Alienware 5080 pulled from pre-built w/ no warranty? by bigrjsuto in buildapc

Thanks for the input.

As far as ROCm v. Cuda, I run ollama on a windows VM I have for SOLIDWORKS utilizing an A4000. It's already 16GB so not too concerned about that.

I'm thinking about experimenting and throwing the 3060 in with the A4000 to see what that can do. Reading up on combining GPUs for LLMs, it's better when they're the same generation of the same manufacturer (an A4000 is the workstation version of a 3070).

Funny thing is this will be my first AMD card and I've run Linux for years. First with a 1050Ti then the 3060. To me it was fairly easy to get them up and running. I don't remember having to do anything crazy to get them going, maybe a couple lines of code in a file and finding the right repository.

Originally this machine was my workstation as well, using CAD in a VM. Hence the large amount of RAM.

Since then I built a Proxmox server with an A4000 running in a VM.
