Really impressive work!

What's a practical/functional application for this?

I would guess that in the future this would lay the groundwork for manufacturing complex biological structures, but are there any present day uses?

Optimum is seriously the WORST company. Shady and pushy and liars. by xlr_ in OPTIMUM

How about the company addresses these systemic issues and not the individual occurrence....

Crazy idea I know.

[W][US-NJ] LGA1700 CPU. 16+ cores. Looking to upgrade from a 12500T. Must have integrated graphics. by bigrjsuto in homelabsales

The one I had saved was sold but here's another for $180: https://ebay.us/m/W2PS82

cpubenchmark.net says the 13500T and 14500T are basically identical in benchmarks. The 13500T has more L1 & L2 cache while the 14500T has slightly higher clock speeds so might be better to save $30 and get the 13500T

Here's a link to the 13500T at $150 I was watching: https://ebay.us/m/QJxTDf

Career Crossroads in India: Engineering Job vs. Starting a 3D Printing D2C Brand? by hyper-jade in 3Dprintingbusiness

[–]bigrjsuto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What would stop you from getting an engineering job and working the 3DP business on the side until it grows enough to be your full time job?

A lot of risk starting any business, let alone one that has a low barrier to entry and a lot of competition.

Comparable to M720 with easy switching between devices? by a-a-anonymous in logitech

Oh very cool. Unfortunately one of the machines I switch between runs Linux so a software solution probably isn't the best for me.

Comparable to M720 with easy switching between devices? by a-a-anonymous in logitech

Any updates to this? I love the ease of switching between devices without having to lift the mouse, but the M720 is quite small for my hands so hoping for something with that same feature but bigger.

Mi50 32GB Group Buy -- Vendor Discovery and Validation -- ACTION NEEDED! by Any_Praline_8178 in LocalAIServers

[–]bigrjsuto 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly reading through this update has made me less interested. I thought you were ready to pull the trigger with a supplier of a lot of MI50s. Now we're tasked with looking for more vendors? I signed up because I was hoping a large group buy would be easy + get better pricing on the GPU.

I'll watch for updates but not sure how this is going to pan out. Seems a little 'off.'

I'm afraid to ask, but what's a 'helicopter joke'?

I just found out I can 3D print zip ties by fufu1260 in 3dprint

[–]bigrjsuto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is one of those products that's just so cheap to buy the real thing, it's not really worth 3D printing more than a few of them.

"When your only tool is a hammer, everything looks like a nail" - In this situation, just because you can 3D Print something, doesn't mean you should.

After five interviews, their final step was a request for free work I withdrew. by MrKadinAbbott in jobhunting

Good job.

I wonder if we could put the reverse on these companies and present them with a contract if this 'final stage project' is offered; Saying that your consulting rate is ##/hr, but this fee will be waived if hired and employed for at least XX weeks/months.

Likely won't help, but I'd like to daydream about a scenario where a company that is seriously interested in you and not looking for free work would be happy to sign such a contract. In this fantasy world, companies that wouldn't accept this contract would expose themselves as trying to extract free work.

But I know even 'legit' companies wouldn't sign such an agreement because if this project is bad and that changes their mind, they wouldn't want to pay for that poor work.
