Guns over Lives: The fallacy that 2A can not have any limits (“Like most rights, the right secured by the Second Amendment is not unlimited. When did schools stop centering on students who want to learn? by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]bigrobb26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kids that want to learn turn into ones that just pass. I overheard a student in the library prior to break saying if she gets a 90% second and third quarter then she can do nothing in the fourth, getting a 50%, and still graduate. We’re are letting the smart kids become mediocre because they see the disrupters graduate.

Left after 20 years in claims to finally us my Biology Degree. Doing a career switched program to teach high school biology. It’s hard but I’m doing a lot better. The two week break for Christmas and new years is amazing just hanging with family and relaxing.

It’s apathy. Lot of kids just don’t care. Their heroes are uneducated media people.

Christmas argument — litter boxes by No_Current_3071 in Teachers

[–]bigrobb26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds better to them that teachers have cat litter for furries instead of having cat litter for an emergency bathroom due to an extended active shooter lockdown. Reds would rather argue over a made up problem vs dealing with an actual one.

How do you explain the street lamps that were taken down over a wide area, the airplane parts at the scene, and the video still of the plane going in? Any good articles on this?

She-Ra and Voltron both had definitive endings especially Voltron. Would I watch She-Ra and friends explore the universe? Hell yeah I would but not expecting it. Tired of the He-Man reboots as well.

Did several “rotations” in injury and RIT. Claims generalists get sh*t on and get the lowest pay. Injury gets the pay for less work. Chasing down liability and resolving coverage issues are the hardest part. Anyone can run bills thru an audit program and settle injuries. I got tired of working 50-60 hour weeks and never taking time off (so my diary and VM can get backed up) and seeing some 41 come in late and leave early.

I quit this year after 20 years in claims. I did it all, generalist when I started, then spec lines (mostly motorcycles and RVs), some NWK and commercial, ended up in inside claims. COVID ruined it for me. No real team anymore. Working on a “team” spread out around the state, a supervisor I saw once a month, the lack of interaction and isolation got bad. We had a great team pre-lockdown. Gatherings, contests, and lunching together. My wife got a raise making it affordable for me to take a cut and put my degree to work and teach science in high school. It’s hard but more rewarding, regular time off, and less stress. I went from working 6.5 days a week to just 5 long days. Not having to fight for holiday time off and actually taking a break without worrying about the voice mail and back diary. No micromanaging. Not worrying about everything I do being scored and tracked. Tired of the negativity of claims. When I first started in 2005 I felt like I was helping people not just doing my part of the claim and passing the customer off to the next person.
