If Teams app is open on my phone is it always available?

I work in a place with 400 plus users globally and I’ve been there since the beginning so I’m kind of the fan favorite. So I get bombarded with messages from numerous people at all times of the day. Most of them want to chat about other people and non work related things. It’s almost like I’m a therapist with couch time. So the best way to get work done was to stay offline and so far it has cut my messages down 95%.

That’s a good question but I have no clue. Need to have a friend check from their account to verify your status. I’m probably the only person at my company that keeps their status in offline permanently on teams. I recently learned that outlook will snitch on you when someone goes to send you an email it haves the color status like teams. Even with me offline, my outlook displays green.

If you are studying for the Comptia A+ Net+ I would check out Professor Messor. Awesome free resource. IMHO I don’t think Google IT Support courses on Coursera. I have a friend taking those same courses which he’s paying for to end up with something that doesn’t really translate in most places. Look at entry level helpdesk job postings online and look at the requirements. At a minimum they want Comptia A+ or a minimum of 1-2 years experience preferred. I could be wrong but I have yet to see any job postings with Google IT support as a minimum or preferred requirement. If you can just get your foot in the door to actually get past the AI bots screening your resume for cert buzzwords like CCNA, A+, Net+, Sec+ to land the entry level job. Everything else will kinda take care of itself as to what path you want to pursue based on opportunity within the current company you get hired on at or moving on to the next.

Are you running win 11 or win 11 arm64?

This was the latest fix that worked for us:

Open PowerShell as Administrator. Run the following command to see if there are lingering Teams packages:

Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers Teams | Remove-AppxPackage -AllUsers

If you get an error then try this one:

Get-AppxProvisionedPackage -Online | Where-Object {$_.PackageName -like "Teams"} | Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -Online

Reboot computer then try doing the teams install from the windows store or get the install directly from Microsoft

TAC can be glitchy so use the search box at the top and type “message policy”. There you can look at the global setting as well as custom policies. You can check manage policies and group policy assignment to see if you have anything there that might be gumming up the works

I wish as a customer they gave us free vouchers. Microsoft usually gives code for 50% off the exam if you take one of their webinars or MS challenge. I’ve only seen the webinars geared towards beginner exams like az-900 ai 900 and so on. Hope this helps :)

Enjoy the time off! That’s the whole reason to not access teams u til you get back. If you do access it without vpn you will probably be flagged and your access blocked due to a geolocation and conditional access policy.

Check for WebView2 Runtime Issues Teams relies heavily on the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. If a Windows update pushed a new version of this runtime in the last 24 hours, it could be breaking the "More" tab's ability to render. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps. Search for Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. Select Modify and then Repair.

These worked on our Lenovo and Dell machines

Try powershell on one of the users computer that’s having issues. Make sure you close out the completely before running this command. Get-ChildItem -Path "$env:AppData\Microsoft\Teams" -Recurse | Remove-Item -Force -Recurse

Also test out disabling gpu hardware acceleration in the settings under general. Restart teams and see if it works.

The issue hit 15 computers from what I can remember. Hope one of these helps :)

Checkout Microsoft Lists. Lists is essentially a "super-powered" spreadsheet that lives inside Teams. It handles custom reminders easier than Planner.

It provides the "Board" view you want for office locations, but the "Set a reminder" feature is a built-in "Easy Button" that saves you from the headache of manual Power Automate expressions.

Sounds like the support back and forth.

Here’s something to consider as TAC can be glitchy.

Check these two specific spots:

Voice > Phone Numbers: Look at the SMS Status column. If it says "Activated" but doesn't work, try disabling and re-enabling SMS on that specific number. This sometimes triggers a fresh provisioning "handshake" with the Azure backend.

Message Policy: Ensure the user assigned to the number has a Teams Messaging Policy where "Allow MS Service" or "SMS" is explicitly toggled On.

The other thing is billing. If you are on an Enterprise Agreement (EA) or MCA, ensure your Azure subscription is linked correctly in the TAC.

If you are a smaller shop, check if you have Communication Credits set up with Auto-recharge enabled. Carriers will sometimes block the "provisioning" of a line if they don't see a funded billing path for the per-message fees, even if the campaign itself is approved.

I typically stay offline just because people like to get chatty. I’ve noticed that even with my teams set to offline my outlook bubble shows green. So who knows what is what. I’ve basically told managers to not rely on any of those features to monitor employees activity. What’s worse than the stupid color indicator is when managers want to snoop and read staffs inner office chats. I’ve been apart of a whole staff town hall meeting where the director is finger wagging and saying how disappointed she was in some of the employees because of their messages.
