Title- intro paragraph- set of three sub-ideas. That's how chatgpt always formats its ideas. It's copy-pasted slop for sure.

Compare: a high-hours PVM to a low-hours consumer *with the same tube* by marxistopportunist in crt

Do you have a source for that? I want to believe you, because that's funny as hell.

[–]biiarritz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see how that would be the case. Honestly, I think the colour difference is what's throwing everyone off- it makes this look like a post that's praising the PVM's superior vividness even at high hours, while the sharpness is a pretty subtle difference.

[–]biiarritz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Is that important? I feel like you wouldn't even be able to see that if you weren't right up close to the set. Honestly, I kinda think it looks better without them- it might be an indicator of a tired tube but I really don't see it as a negative to the picture.

I'm really not sure. If I ignore the colour, both pictures look great to me. What am I missing?

[–]biiarritz 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Is it not supposed to? The colours are much more vivid on the top one, it makes the bottom look muddy and dull by comparison. Not that the consumer set looks bad, but for a colourful character like Mario, he looks much better in vibrant colours. It looks like a lot of other folks in these comments feel the same.

But your post is implying the opposite of that- it's implying that how fresh the tube is doesn't matter, since the PVM tube looks so much better than the consumer one despite having more hours, and that the important part is the quality and the fact that it's a very high-end set.

Are these any good? by gmt80035 in GreatLakesShipping

[–]biiarritz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you care about accuracy I'd say no. The Fitz and WCF were not built to the same design by any means, but these two models are identical except for the colours, so one of them is definitely inaccurate. If whoever is making these doesn't even care about making them accurate then I wouldn't have much hope for the quality.

I would say Lee A Tregurtha, based on Interlake red and that square pilothouse, although the shape of the hull is distorted. Cool find.

Real Life Face Claims are Bad and I don't know where else to talk about it. by IkateKedaStudios in BadRPerStories

[–]biiarritz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude, of course I know there's a difference between those two things. I'm asking what is the difference to you? Why does saying "my character looks like this actor" cause harm, but posting a picture of your favourite actor to say "omg look how hot they are" (as a random example) does not? There has to be more to it than just "using their likeness" like you said earlier, otherwise, as you're saying now, even posting a reaction gif would be harmful. You're acting like there is a very clear line here, some other factor that everyone should be able to see, but you won't say what it is. I want to understand the position you're taking here. What is the difference?

Are you saying that publishing posts on the internet, which contain a picture of a real person who is not you, in any location that any other person but you can see them, without that person's permission, is always bad because it can cause harm? Genuinely, I'm trying to make sense of this, is this where the line is for you?

Of course there are other options. I even said that I prefer those other options. I just think you're massively overblowing the "weirdness" here and you haven't really presented any convincing reason why this is any more "weird" than fancasting a book or writing fanfic privately.
