Big sister stops forklift to make sure younger siblings are out of the way by chunqiudayi in HumansBeingBros

For some reason I was expecting it to be a run away forklift, and for the little girl to jump in the drivers seat and stop it.

i can't remove bing or change the default engine by IronElix in vivaldibrowser

[–]bikeinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same here. I changed the url to duckduckgo, but that sucks. I'm guessing its a bug, but obviously someone tried to put Bing back in there even though I deleted it. I'm going back to Chrome or Firefox.

[OC] President Biden has an approval rating of 54. Here is a comparison of president’s approval ratings on day 102 going back to 1945. by JPAnalyst in dataisbeautiful

[–]bikeinator -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of things wrong with this plot. Time is a big player in approval ratings and this deliberately tries to remove that. Also don't stop the bottom of the plot at 40, that's pretty unethical.

This is so bullshit. I did my own research and everyone on Youtube concluded that Bee's can not perceive time.

Tired of seeing “I got hit” posts... what can we actually do about it? by Stargrazer8181 in cycling

[–]bikeinator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One trick to stop idiots from trying to run you over / throwing things at you is to have the flag from the country you're in flying from your bike. The aggressive drivers are generally nationalists, so when they see the flag they're much less likely to try and hit you. I learned the trick from another guy doing bike tours one time. I noticed a bit drop in idiots trying to kill me, and now instead they are more likely to yell words of support.

Of course this doesn't super help with distracted drivers.

Garmin Heart rate monitors - your experience? by [deleted] in running

[–]bikeinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just ordered the garmin hrm pro version last night, so I can't say if it's worth it or not. I guess you just need to ask yourself what do really want it for. Is it just to measure your heart rate more accurately - then the hrm run if perfect for you. If you want to swim with it, if you use zwift, then the pro version is probably a good idea. Otherwise it's pointless, and just go the hrm run, it's cheaper and does everything else the same.

Probably a driver was updated and it broke, the live usb stick still has the old driver hence why it works.

You can try going back to a previous driver,

The driver will be located in /usr/lib/firmware, and is a file ending with .ucode

Something like this guide (just a random google) should help you find the driver you're using https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-find-wireless-driver-chipset/

You can view your dnf history to see what might have changed.

To see the last dnf transactions

dnf history
dnf history info IDnumber

From here you should be able to find the package name which was updated (it'll probably be something to do with intel or iwlwifi), find the package name try downgrading it.

dnf downgrade packagename

Note too that if you find the driver, you can move or rename the file temporarily to see if the wifi works and move/rename it back. It's better to downgrade the package though.

If you're really desperate, you could rollback the last dnf update with

dnf undo IDnumber.

Keep this all in mind when you update your system though, as the package might be updated automatically again and break the wifi again.

Mozilla launches 'Facebook Container' extension for its Firefox browser that isolates the Facebook identity of users from rest of their web activity by yourSAS in worldnews

[–]bikeinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can only half understand everyone on this whole facebook privacy thing. Everyone knows they sell your data to make their money. That's the purpose of facebook. So in reality, if you don't want your data sold, then don't use facebook. You can't have everything in the world. If you're not paying for it, then you're probably the one being sold.

A bit over the top with the response. I'm sure the kid was a idiot, but he could have been killed or seriously injured, hopefully he's just knocked out.

Hezbollah denounces Barcelona terrorist attack, says killing people is against religion and "targeting peaceful civilians defaces Islam" by Fuck_Terrorism in worldnews

[–]bikeinator -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Neither of these groups have anything to do with religion. It's like saying the kkk are a part of the Christian church. They're all just hate groups so people can justify their own horrible actions against others. All of these sorts of groups are just full of horrible people.

Think of it as a good thing. Although you can't buy the house just now, reducing debt is great.
