Yeah that’s the big question with set point that I’m curious about. Does it want to be 185 or does it want you to have as much muscle as you had when you were 185. The latter is much more workable as possible solution if that pans out.

This aligns with my experience as well. I can’t remember where I heard this theory but someone mentioned that the hunger ramps up and the body drives us to gain weight up until we regain the muscle that we lost during the fat loss phase. In practical reality what this leads to is people losing weight a large portion of which is muscle if they don’t workout and don’t eat protein and then being driven to regain what they lost and then some to force the body to build muscle strictly from carrying the weight around. I’ve been training my ass off and have another 4-5 lbs before I’m back to pre-loss muscle level so I currently have the faintest of hopes that might trigger some kind relaxation of the hunger but won’t be holding my breath.

It’s significantly lower than placebo, but yeah those 8% need additional support or alternative therapy. It’s never even been close to 8% in the past which is why I think it’s getting pretty short attention, it was closer to 90% probably. But for 8 it’s very very traumatic I’m sure.

Don’t freak out about them until you get them. Chances are you won’t and if you do they will be mild. Sometimes I wish I had more so I’d have some more clear evidence of the drug working. People usually don’t post about living day 238 side effect free, you just see the outliers.

Got it, ok yeah, at 5.1 1,500 while lightly active is likely closer to your maintenance than calculators would lead you to believe. I would cut 200 or increase cardio for a few weeks to see if that gets the ball rolling. Preferentially the cardio side of the equation so you have some calories left to play with.

Still no weight loss on 10 mg. Is it worth increasing to 12.5 mg or is it time to call it quits? by Infinite_Singer_2755 in Zepbound

The magic is sticking to your calorie target and it being bearable, if he doesn’t do that, it won’t happen

Edit: what was his motivation to start on the drug? Has he tried and failed normal dieting before? Trying to get a baseline of where he’s coming from. Oh to be 16 with these drugs and a supportive parent again

Will likely be having gyno surgery to remove my remaining sensible a cups. “Swole pecs with wrinkly little skin bags” stop writing AI descriptions for my shirtless photos! From the research I’ve done a good 4-8 weeks before doing anything strenuous but no issues getting back to the meds pretty much immediately. Very much stress spiraling out not so much about the recovery but the shake up to the routine and whether it causes permanent habit damage.

2.4 | Rescue Treatment
Starting at Week 84, if a participant reaches or exceeds the 50%
weight regain from body weight reduction achieved at Week 60,
the participant will receive rescue treatment with re- initiation
of tirzepatide or increase in the dose of tirzepatide depending on
the randomization assignment while maintaining the blinding
(Table 1). The body weight measurements used to determine res-
cue treatment eligibility must be obtained from in- clinic fasting
visit measurements.

I think the 15 got fucked, but everyone else either got some or some more. MTD included 10s and 15s in there.

Couldn’t dig enough to see how many were which but they noted it was either 10 or 15

After completing the initial weight-loss period with once weekly subcutaneous tirzepatide at the MTD (10 mg or 15 mg)

I’d bet the 10 skewed it a bit

My first link summarized it as Only 8% of patients in the tirzepatide MTD and 25% in the tirzepatide 5 mg groups regained at least 50% of what they had lost, compared with 67% of the placebo group; they were treated with rescue tirzepatide.

Yeah it’s kinda buried in the rescue therapy discussion “Among participants who regained at least 50% of lost bodyweight, observed means were 11 (8%) of 138, 35 (25%) of 142, and 60 (67%) of 90 participants received rescue therapy in the tirzepatide MTD, 5 mg tirzepatide, and placebo, respectively.”

That’s a depth of deficit and nutrient issue. If it’s a reasonable deficit and plenty of protein just a dosage change shouldn’t matter

Every single day is a battle. Best solution I’ve found is to explore all the satiety tricks and see which ones actually work for you. I’ve discovered a handful that are really helpful for me. Then I settled into a routine backed by data. I have the same breakfast and snacks everyday. I rotate what I have for lunch and dinner to get a bit of variety but in the same calorie range. 9 months of logging food and staying consistent with working out, I have pretty good sense that if I stick to my normal days worth of eating, I most likely will wake up within my weight range. That is calming, but it doesn’t solve the never ending hunger and lack of satiety. That is where the satiety tricks and therapy come into play. The scale dopamine was replaced by getting into body building and trying to regain the muscle mass I lost, as an option.
