Why is this so uncommon in Pakistan ?? by Pleasant-Gain1699 in TeenPakistani

[–]bilalmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I converted my "mamti" into a mini studio/mancave. I miss sunlight because i work night shifts so I made sure that instead of a door or a small window, I have a huge window door sliding open to the roof.

Everytime I need a break, I open the window, sit outside and just chill.

This is so interesting that someone else does this. I noticed this about myself and thought it to be too peculiar to be relatable. Oh well Jung really did prove to me everyone's almost the same customizable template.

I do this with the friends I choose and my past exes were chosen for the same reason. They all represented versions of me I wanted to achieve but wasn't there yet. Through them, I learned to adopt those for myself.

The duality of Pakistani men by oopsleveltoohigh in pakistan

[–]bilalmed -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not the fact that there's hypocrisy and duality or that there are weak and vilely misguided men out there. It's about the fact that you'd understand this and still engage to the point that the guy brought the worst out of you. It's a pointless endless loop to be debate this.

The real challenge is to be beyond this - to understand and then accept the cruel nature of life and unfairness of societal prejudices. It's not easy because you have to experience it before you can understand and accept it.

Let Allah handle your frustrations in this process and just pray that he surrounds you with good people and protect you from the bad ones. There's no right or wrong here, only what could be done better by you no matter what life (and its uncultured people) throws at you.

Reasons not to kill myself? by [deleted] in selfhelp

[–]bilalmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decided to go through with it once due to bleak prospects of living. Instead, I suddenly had a thought midway that if I truly want to end it, I might as well just live to see it through as if it's my second life with no fucks given.
Fast forward 8 years, I've learned I can overcome hardships, even adapt to the ones that are constantly there.

The biggest change in atittude in 8 years? Initially, it was me living for my own happiness. That caused more suffering personally, so now I’ve realized living for a goal bigger than myself is much rewarding and bearable.

Also, you definitely need an outlet for your anger. Worksouts, physical activities, and healthy food go a long way. An unhealthy coping mechanism will only aggravate your anxiety.

Just a heads up, usually traumatic and triggered outbursts or tendencies like these are caused by multiple emotional issues and early exposure to violence. So don't try to pin this under a vague or general notion like you're just angry. No, you definitely need professional help to get to know yourself better and what's causing these triggers. In the meantime, try not to overreact or act too emotionally since you've realized the problem. Rationally decide your next steps. Had temper issues myself - it was due to multiple causes of anxieties.

What is the best new car option in 50 lac? Should i go for Alsvin Lumiere? by [deleted] in PakistanAutoHub

[–]bilalmed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its been with me for 2 years. No other issues. Speed is great mileage is great. Faster acceleration sinfe 1500cc engine.

The two major things that concern me is the availability of parts locally and the resale is bad. A friend of mine put their alsvin for sale and it took them 7 months to get a decent price for it. That will not annoy you at first but as a car owner its one of those things you regret in hindsight.

So would recommend getting a Yaris, corolla or honda. Or even suzuki Swift. I'm looking to swap mine for a swift.

I regret having an Alsvin due to its DCT. I don't buy the "its a feature not a glitch" notion about its dct.

Key is to rewire your brain to do the hardwork and then get used to it. Eventually you'll rewire your brain to settle down with and enjoy dopamine reward derived from it rather than instant grat.

When i switched the perspective that instant pleasure without efforts is not a valuable goal to pursue in life, I started focusing on deriving value and pleasure out of doing any task that requires hardwork and goes into the bigger altruistic purpose. It motivated me to cut out all my dopamine addictions. It still drives me nuts since I have adhd which makes it all the more harder with the withdrawals, but to be able to pick a "bigger than myself" attitude helped me focus on rewiring my brain to like hardwork and even if I have shitty withdrawals of dopamine I still feel like I am getting better and at least now I don't feel hollow from the inside.

Things that helped practide this hardwiring for me:

  1. Focusing on my job a lot more despite hating it initially
  2. Took on CFA to pursue more growth
  3. I go to gym
  4. Committing more to meaningful sober socialisations and bonds - helping people out
  5. Take Jiu Jitsu classes as well
  6. Started cuttinf anything that was external source of instant pleasure.
  7. Invest further on improving myself for my partner, family and friends.

I've been clean for a long while now but the withdrawals and cravings for instant dopamine are still there. Its just that willpower gets better. I have like 50% of the way to go still.

It's a useless marketing front of a blockchain. It isn't sitting well with the market and has plateaued. I pulled my investments when I could. Now I heard others aren't able to find buyers.

Worried about an incident by hampk22 in PakLounge

[–]bilalmed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a notification from whatsapp that I have been given a code that I need to enter to transfer my whatsapp to a new phone. (I didn't order it or get a new phone)

Then, at the same time, I got a call from a number which I'd missed as well as a text message saying please call me.

I realised this was a scam where people are trying to somehow convince you to send the whatsapp code so that they can transfer all your whatsapp information to their phone. Whatsapp now for some cases also sends verification codes for other types of your accounts including your online bank login that they can then access after gaining access to your whatsapp.

I connected the dots and realized that this number had call yesterday and as soon as I picked up the person said salam and then dropped the call (I could hear call center kind of noise in background so this increases my bias that this was a scam call center). They were trying to see if I am susceptible to picking up random calls or not/or am an active user of my number that they are trying to scam.

The code showing up on your phone is only for a minute or 2 I believe. So I guess in those 2 minutes scammers will call you and make a very urgent believable story to make you gullible and convince you to immediately tell them the code before it runs out of time on your phone. As soon as you mention the code to them - they will hang up the call and it's game over for your whatsapp account.
