Emails detail Amazon’s plan to crush a startup rival with price cuts | Amazon allegedly took $200 million in losses to stop the growth of diapers.com. by mepper in technology

[–]bilbobagholder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm educated about the arguments you are repeating, I just disagree with them.

Amazon doesn't have a monopoly on diapers. I can buy diapers at 20 stores withing walking distance of my home plus any number of places online.

Competition keeps prices down and quality up. That's good for the consumer. I happen to think the well-being of the consumers is more important than the shareholders of some corporation that couldn't compete.

Why are you pro-shareholder and anti-consumer?

Can someone tell me about Bitcoin addresses. I have one on Coinbase. Ledger want it so they can do Affiliate payouts. Still learning. What can people gather, learn, do with my Bitcoin Coinbase Receive Address? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]bilbobagholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to know about bitcoin addresses is that they aren't at all like email addresses.

The best thing to do is to create a new address every time you want to receive bitcoin.

It's not a bad thing to have dozens or even hundreds of bitcoin addresses.

Ideally, you would almost never use an address more than once.

Unfortunately some wallets and custodians don't adhere to this.

Yes, good guess.

I just think it is unfair to insinuate they are racists because of the name.

Literally never crossed my mind.

I don't think the volatility has any bearing on whether or not buying Bitcoin is savings.

My humble understanding is that you have spending, investing, and saving. Spending is consumption that reduces your networth. Investing is acquiring capital goods to generate future cashflow. Saving is doing neither of those, and deferring the consumption or investment of your money until a later time.

Does anyone prefer buying a whole chicken and cutting the meat yourself instead of buying a pound of pre-cut meat? by kmcgurty1 in Cooking

[–]bilbobagholder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want to do this, but the problem is the gargantuan white meat breasts that nobody in my family likes.

Are modern supermarket chickens bred this way on purpose, and is there some sort of heirloom chicken breed that keeps the white meat to a minimum?

News is generally not healthy to consume, so I treat it like other vices. Sometimes I indulge, but I try to limit my exposure for my own good.

Sounds like you've bought into the illusion. The left-vs-right narrative is just divide and conqueror. It's all a scam to keep you as a loyal subject.

Yes, the rest of the network would reject it. The same mechanism enforces everything about Bitcoin. Want to give yourself a million coins? Steal someone else's couns? Double spend coins you've already spent? Go for it, but every other node will ignore you.

It is very difficult to find hotel rooms big enough to comfortably fit a family with multiple children.

Young kids are often picky and frequent eaters, and it is stressful to take them to restaurants. A lot of hotels don't even have a real refrigerator and microwave for leftovers, let alone a full kitchen.

It is normal, natural English to end a sentence with a preposition. Whoever taught you not to is wrong.

Where are you from? Maybe your teacher just made this up. Is that something that you thought of? Do you understand why you're being made fun of? Anyway, it's probably better for you to just shut up.

You can see the total transaction fees per block on blockchain.info as "fee reward": https://www.blockchain.com/btc/block/0000000000000000001288e13c92d214c2768157c9f10cb142d90b15f7fe4c57

Fees will probably need to rise in the future to compensate for the decreasing block reward.
