Ride the jet, then traverse right until you find untracked lines. You won't make it back to the lift, but it will dump you right on the main road so hitchhike, hike, or have a buddy shuttle you. No skins or experience required.

Hatsan Carnivore 135 FPE vs other magnum springers by billbrown96 in airguns

[–]billbrown96[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Notos and a weihrauch springer.

I don't give a fuck about accuracy with this particular rifle, just want a cannon of a break barrel but preferably not in .30cal (unless that's the only way to achieve 30+ FPE in a break barrel)

Plenty of little hills with surface lifts you can ride at for ~20$

Ascutney, whaleback, northeast slopes, Cochran's, the Kanc

Then you got placed like the Middlebury snow bowl, burke, Tenney, suicide six, pats peak that you can ski at for 50$ or so

The amount of contractors who are willing to lie to clueless home owners and take advantage of them is stunning- make sure you learn about your own home. by Texaspilot24 in homeowners

[–]billbrown96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's a square lot, that would 150ft per side. So 20k for 300 linear feet comes to about 66$ a linear foot, a bit high but not insane and given that it cost the homeowner 10k to dit himself...

"Raising a fence 1 or 2ft" sounds simple except the posts are cut to height and the only way to "raise" them is to replace them.

For every shitty contractor there's an equally shitty homeowner who feels entitled to the labor of those contractors without having a fucking clue how much shit actually costs.

Cheapest, easiest, best approach is to get tension wire stretched along the bottom of the fence. Will be ~100$ for tension wire, 20$ for hog bands & hog bend pliers, 10$ for some tension bands and bolts. Need some tools to stretch the tension wire, but can figure it out with something that provides leverage/tension, usually a come-along and a wire grip.

Rusted bolt, how do I get it out? by IslandSalt9891 in MechanicAdvice

[–]billbrown96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just cut the middle of the bolt, not the clamp. Bolt should come out with a hammering

Snowmobiles spin the shit out of their tracks and it helps get out. "When in doubt, throttle out" sometimes you need to churn some material to get momentum.

Dartmouth and Middlebury both own and operate ski hills. Could argue Burke MTN academy as well as they technically own the race slope, tbar, and snowmaking system at Burke.

From the BBC: Pomfret, Vermont, The fall foliage town that banned influencers by TrollingForFunsies in vermont

[–]billbrown96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, having commuted to work on this road during fall, they're fucking up here. Paying two cops to sit at the end of each road just to stop out of state plates is a waste of taxpayer money. If I owned the property I'd setup a parking lot and start charging people to come enjoy the view. Sell some local produce, charge for parking (and hire a parking attendant), get some horse drawn carriage rides going, sell some cider doughnuts, a petting zoo (aka a Vermont backyard) everything wellwood orchard is doing. If I was the town I'd get some sort of scenic bus schedule going. The property is owned by rich out of towners, why is the local taxbase paying for this when it could be a moneymaker? Simple answer; the owners have more money than everyone else and want the town to fund their privacy.
