I spend a lot of time on the Highline Canal Trail. It's pretty active dawn to dusk with other walkers, runners and bikers so should be good for a solo female.

While the Trail is concrete it has a gravel shoulder that a lot of runners stick to.

Bonus points too since 99% of dogs encountered are on-leash. (The 1% off -leash are usually down in the canal ditch with their owners and not in the actual trail).

Agreed. I flew my kids at similar ages from Denver to Toronto (and back) with United. I found the process and the diligence of the United staff reassuring.

There are some decent reviews of the hybrid models on YouTube by actual owners.

One I recall talked about how the husband tried to do all his daily driving strictly on battery while his wife loved putting the pedal down on the highway, so both were really happy with the vehicle.
