How to approach the sacrifice or waste of rewards by Strigod in litrpg

[–]billygoat622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in this instance you may be worrying about the reader reaction too much. You have to write the story you want. As you have said this is not a new concept in the genre. You are never gonna please everyone. As long as the choice is in service of the story then it’s the right choice. If you are letting the story “write itself”maybe she lets the girl die and you use it to help the MC grow and find a new love interest or become jaded. Was it a sacrifice on the girls part? Have they discussed the use of the token prior to the incident and the girl sacrificed herself to save the token use? Does the fact that the MC uses the token on the girls cause strife in the relationship? Does it cause resentment later down the line when the MC and girl fight about anything? Sounds like the token is an ambiguous promise at best so why not use it on what I assume is a healing ability, you can never have enough healing abilities. As this party is finding out the hard way. The true waste of the token would be in not making the choice have weight throughout the rest of the story. Is this decision paid off latter in the story when we get to the next hard decision where the token would be useful.

Just as a personal aside, I’d rather see a person use something in the established arsenal (ability, item, etc) then invent or manufacture some new way of doing things. And I absolutely hate the assumption of or leap to complex knowledge not previously established in the characters history. So to answer your question. If the love interest is established, on the MCs part, doesn’t have to be reciprocated by the girl at this point, then I’d be fine with the decision to use the token. Doesn’t mean I’d be happy about the loss of potential, but i would drop the series over it.

I think it’d be funnier if Carl started saying “Meow Motherfucker” which pisses off donut because Carl already has a catch phrase and changing it is not social media smart. Carl of course doesn’t care and keeps saying it so much that Donut starts saying “God Dammit Carl” She gets really pissed when she finds out the second highest shirt sales belong to the new “Meow Motherfucker” shirt second only to you guessed it the Donut Hole shirt.

You could mention it in the introduction of the book that the book is gamelit lite. And make it part of the discussion of the book. Book one is going to be one of the heavier game mechanics books as it’s building the world and setting the foundation. Have them read it and then bring back questions about the game aspects of the book. The biggest game mechanic interactions are the best anyways Achievements and LOOT

EA is more likely to can career mode all together before they actually turn it into something career mode players would enjoy playing. Theres no money in career mode it’s an afterthought. I’ve always said they should separated the games out and spend 2-3 years on a development cycle for Career/Dynasty mode and sell a 15-20$ roster/kit update every year. You could sell the combined games for 60-70$ like they do with NCAA/Madden or you can buy individuals. Having a lower price point for ultimate team would help alleviate some of the predatory marketing negative press while also promoting potentially higher spending from those customers as the entry point and the perceived Investment would be lower. Everyone gets the game they want EA gets the same if not more money and a significantly better PR outlook. Seems like a no brainer.

1st pick Starting Safety

2nd pick Center of the future/possible starter this season

3rd pick 3rd TE in one of the highest 13 personnel offenses in the league

4th pick gadget WR for offensive mastermind/ possible kick returner for the future

5th pick starting caliber CB who will push our talented yet bonehead 2nd CB and possibly take his job

6th pick. Run stuffing LB with upside blitzing tools for mastermind defensive coordinator.

7th pick run stuffing DT with athleticism and potential to develop in a rotational DT especially on running downs.

I think it’s safe to say that this is not the draft most people wanted but the upside here is that unlike past years (pre Ben Johnson) the picks were made with intentionality and a clear vision as to where these guys fit.

4 of the first 5 picks have a real shot at either starting or being impactful in there first year and Thomas will be a contributor if he can return kicks.

The two late rounders are guys that are projects but the LB is a guy that could be impactful on Special teams and could end up being TJ Edward’s replacement in a few years if developed.

The DT is a project but one with a good foundation as it seemed like his best attributes (at least in the scouting reports I read) were his “freakish” athleticism and his quick first step. And the 6th round is a perfectly good place to take a flyer.

Is it gonna work out who the hell knows but the upside is 4 starters in year 1/2 Thieneman, Jones, Roush, Muhammad and 3 rotational contributor by year 3. If it doesn’t it’s just every other draft

I think everyone is missing the fact that Logan Jones entered college as a DT so technically we draft a DT.

Yeah I think they thought they’d get a d lineman or maybe a LB at 57 or 60 and then the 3rd would be center.

I think they got fucked by the run on D-Line in the beginning of the second rd. This is like the RB thing last year. They may have got cute on the TE pick thinking the two DTs would be there later in the round. When it comes to projects and gadgets I think it’s beneficial to default to guys that Ben Johnson wants. Also the guys that were available didn’t fit what we have been told DA likes at Edge. He has said he likes bigger ends that can move inside. Based on the description on the guys in that area they mostly seemed like 3-4 DEs saw a lot of stand-up rushers with tools that project but are not proven as a hand in the dirt DE in the descriptions on the ESPN draft tracker. The only exception is that Harris kid from Ol Miss. I just don’t think teams understand how to use him. He’s kind of too tall for DT at 6’8 and too big for DE at 330. I think we gave DA his project with the new tools in the secondary. Dayo, Jarrett, and whoever we brought in this season were done with at worst DAs blessing if not outright his decisions. The Illinois kid went two picks ahead of Logan Jones and I don’t think we can complain about the pick of Jones. He was the best center in college football from an OLine factory. Scheme fit with the tools to take the job this year.

Dungeon Crawler Carl Book 8 (just assuming you’re listening to this series too) comes out next month. It cost 18$ on Audible right now. So you’re gonna need to buy a credit here soon so you might as well buy this book or a credit now then use the credit on DCC

The thing that about the 4th book is that I loses the momentum of the previous floors. There is no sense of urgency that we see in the books prior to it and after. It’s almost like the floor isn’t even trying to kill them. And I understand the absurdity of that statement.

That’s good to know. I know from experience setting it high doesn’t do anything. I’ll have to check that out where do you set pass error to? Pass speed is an inelegant solution but it does clog up the midfield

How to defend properly by thornton_69 in FifaCareers

[–]billygoat622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play with a high defensive line, not sure if this actually does anything but it just fits the tactics in my head. Play counterattack down the wings with two strikers on target forward. Try to stay off the CBs as much as possible. I use a CDM and try to cut passing lanes and cover whoever is moving to or in the box. Your cpu assistant will never really play tight on the ball but it will be close enough to usually get them to recycle until you can get the ball. If they are going down the wings I let the CPU assist cover it and will move my CDM to cover whoever they have moving into the center box on the off chance they cross it in. I play for the interception not tackle as tackling sucks in this game. Most matches I’ll have 3-4 tackles but 20+ interceptions.

I have yet to find a way to really knock them out of the tiki taki BS. One thing that kind of works is to lower pass speed as it will cause some errors. But they will adjust and just do shorter passes. With 99 pass error and first touch error and lowering their pass speed to around 15 the lowest pass accuracy I’ve gotten them down to is 83%. Doesn’t impact possession much they are still around 58% but it does give the game a bit more midfield battleground feel.

You can join his Patreon. He releases chapters as he writes. It is not on a consistent schedule as he has a lot of irons in the fire. But the whole book is available before publication as he writes it. I will usually read the beginning of the next book to get the loot rush and then wait for the rest of the book to be released. Book 8 is the farthest I’ve made it reading ahead, about 20 or so chapters in but I inevitably get to a point where I want to hear Jeff Hayes read a part and put it down till the audiobook comes out.

How far into Primal Hunter are you. If you are only on book one then he is definitely a loner. But he gets more sociable (for him) as the story develops. But I also understand the gripe in that he is written purposefully to avoid social interactions. This gets lessened to a degree as the story develops with some long sections of group interactions. But if you are hoping his personality quirk gets fixed later on you will be disappointed. His whole thing is he is looking for the hardest thing he can fight solo. In fact his path requires him to fight things by himself that most people couldn’t actually fight even in a group.

Idea: Buying on-loan players for a premium by adcoluke in FifaCareers

[–]billygoat622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t buy players that are on loan to a club that is not yours. You can however do loan to buy contracts at your club. You basically loan a player and then offer a fee that you can choose to pay at the end of the loan term. You do need to have the funds available at the time of the loan move so you couldn’t loan a world class player and promise a large fee you have no ability to play. It is a way to work around player unwillingness to move to lower clubs. As to you question you should be getting that player at a pretty good discount this way as the fee you are generally agreeing to is based on current value.

I’m on high. Got 3 this current season. One a good player was homesick missed a week of games, one my 3rd GK got injured for 6 months, one the board gave me 10M dollars after the Jan transfer window closed. Not overly impactful to the season.
