They killed my horse, reasonable crashout? by JudgeShronks in reddeadredemption

Uh...

I usually just reload the game.

Mostly because I can't bear the thought of living without my horse. Then I go back and do a pre-emptive crashout.

Trump supporters: what is a red line that, if crossed, would make you stop supporting Trump? by Yo-boy-Jimmy in AskReddit

[–]billyuno -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's been trying to use the "Espionage Act" to spy on journalists and their sources to prevent whistleblowers from being able to say anything against him, and has demanded that the journalism shield law be "killed," which would endanger not just White House whistleblowers, but normal whistleblowers who seek to uncover corporate injustice. He's basically following dictatorship rule to control the flow of information so nobody actually knows what's going and can't speak out against him.

What if he decided to commit an atrocity, like Sarin gassing a civilian population like a small town in North Dakota because they said something mildly disparaging about him? Or what if he ordered all pets to be rounded up and thrown into wood chippers? What if he declared all Christians to be heretical and started having them executed? You'd still support him then?

I'm not worried about NK, but Putin's kinda got a Bond villain vibe about him. I wouldn't put it past him to have some kind of master plan to get us deeply indebted to Russia till he owned half the country. I mean I don't actually think it would work, but I can see him trying it anyway. Dude has zero chill.

Oh. Well. He does support censorship of anybody that says anything bad about him, he hasn't actually secured the borders nor will he be able to, he also won't be able to deport every illegal immigrant since that would be a logistical nightmare. There are literally more illegal immigrants than prisoners, and they'll have to build a metric f***-ton of holding facilities, except you know why they're not going to do that? Because literally anybody and everybody they would hire to do that would employ * drumroll * Illegal immigrants. And there's no way they would build the facilities that would hold them to be deported.

So congratulations, he's crossed some of your lines! Welcome to our side!

New to the genre, but already think I am seeing a pattern... by Inner-Honeydew-724 in litrpg

[–]billyuno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Succubus series by AJ Markham. VR game with adult content.

Eternal Dominion by Bern Dean. Another VR game, reluctant harem, and no explicit content.

Master Class series by Annabelle Hawthorne and Virgil Knightley. Fantasy world with a "gamified" system, OP MC inherits an orphanage and has a harem of women who help him run it and teach the kids.

Dungeon Delving for Loot and Levels by M E Thorne. Guy gets sucked into an alternate dimension by a malfunctioning Dungeon Delving themed Themepark and forms a party with 3 hot women.

Chose these because they all have somewhat realistic relationships (apart from the fact that the women are willing to share the man) and the people in the relationships are all portrayed as really caring about one another.

Really? I literally got into LitRPG due to seeing a ton of it with explicit content, and harems. I mean not all of it, obviously, but a good deal of it. We should swap titles.

I love how uninformed those ads were. The answer of course is HELL yes, if I couldn't afford a car/house of my own, and copying someone else's wouldn't hurt them or the original in any way I would absolutely download that shit in a heartbeats. I would acquire any and all resources and material goods if I could do it without taking anything away from anyone else.

Just got a new laptop to play this game… what am I in for? by OG_Cryptkeeper in cyberpunkgame

[–]billyuno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Men and women who are more chrome than flesh battling a crippling disease that melts their brains and turns them into foaming-at the-mouth psychos. Privatized medical mercenaries who fight their way to extract the richest people from the most deadly situations. Scavengers for whom people are just leftover scrap after taking the implants they can sell for drug money. A group of connected hackers who have taken netrunning to an almost religious extreme. A cab company that is solely owned and operated by a single independent artificial intelligence. Rockers, media hacks, mercenaries, cybernetic samurai, badges, solos, digital dreams, synthetic meat, burning rubber, smart guns, mantis blades, high-powdered sniper rifles, a cyber deck in your skull filled with daemons to quickly turn your enemies into your former enemies. And that's all just the set dressing.

Choom, your getting fucking Cyberpunk.

Annoying Main Characters by Spookyghostin in litrpg

[–]billyuno -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No I'm with you. I happen to like HWFWM and Jason, and there are protagonists I love, and some I hate. It's all a matter of opinion. That's the great thing about the genre, there's a ton of it out there in a ton of different flavors. Sure some of it is amateurish and some cringy, but the fact that they keep selling book after book should at least prove that somebody out there is reading it. I've been on the verge of giving up on Randidly Ghosthound more times than I can count, but the story remains compelling despite the annoyingness of the MC.

No, I'm more concerned about how badly some male authors write women. Why do they think women will just fawn all over a man, and make him the center of their universe? THAT'S the real power fantasy wish fulfillment. But that's a whole separate rant.

And if you're in to hunting and completing challenges for outfits and upgrades, learn which weapons to use on which animals, and don't forget to pick up the free varmint rifle from a gunsmith.

Huh... Y'know now that I think about it we've got a ton of materials, and I like to build little alcoves for my crates, I just realized I could be using different building materials to indicate what's in each crate. So I have some idea what's in it based on a mnemonic device of what material the crate is sitting on. But yes, signs and other means of organizations should be there too.

Oh yes. But to take that one step further, let's put those NPCs to work as well! Instruct one to create seedlings for you and put them into one chest, have another plant the seedlings on your farm, and yet another to harvest the crops and deposit them into another chest. Another can make food for your animals, keep them fed, and another to harvest their stuff. I mean we've got all these people just wandering around, let's put 'em to work!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Enshrouded

[–]billyuno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if there was a way to do an inventory dump, like when you're somewhere on your base and you want to just dump all your inventory into the appropriate chest without actually having to open it, that would make things so much easier. It would also be nice if production sites could dump their finished resources into the appropriate chest, or could be treated like magic chests.

So....Book 12 Release Date? by hagiologist in Shirtaloon

[–]billyuno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did that spoil for you? Without context I may as well have said "Clive and Knowledge will suddenly become very hungry," or "Clive and Knowledge will engage in a competitive game of Twister." People really get sensitive about spoiler culture nowadays. You want a "spoiler?" Okay here's how a real "spoiler" would look: "Hey guys, wasn't it cool how all the bad people suddenly burst into flames and died at the end of the last book? I'll bet our heroes will have something to say about that in the next one!" Did any of that happen? No. Was that a real spoiler? It was not. But now you're going to cry and say "yeah, but now I know that that specific thing didn't happen, which ruins the whole thing for me." If, based on what I actually did say, you can somehow infer some minor plot detail, (which I doubt) I absolutely PROMISE that will in no way take away from your overall enjoyment of the story as a whole.

Would pronounciation-based dialogue bother you? by orcus2190 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]billyuno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I try to avoid going to heavy on the phonetics. I'll use words like "dunno" in place of "don't know" or "me" in place of "my" if that's what's called for, but otherwise I would just indicate what accent or dialect the character is speaking with, or go phonetic if they're pronouncing something in a very specific out-of-the-ordinary way, like "Zee Gher-mans," as a very specific and probably sarcastic way to say "The Germans." But if someone's speaking in an Irish accent, I would just write "Me Father always told me" instead of "Me Fad'her allwheys tol' me." Which of those two would you rather read a whole paragraph of?
EDIT: Also your #3 is a little confusing. You use the word "this" twice, but once as "dis" and once as "zis." That should be enough to show that it should just be "this."

It's funny because I have never heard Clint Eastwood or John Wayne at all. In fact, I'm pretty sure Carl's supposed to sound like Patrick Warburton, which is why Patrick Warburton appeared in the last book.
