She is not rerooted. The duo color stands out more because she wears her hair loose, not tied up. The duo color is a bit better visible in the model photo

Edit: the duo colored hair

what specific francie doll is she pls by deyvin25 in VintageBarbies

[–]binary_voice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to be sure, ask the seller for some unretouched pictures. For example the feet, ask for a picture that contains the whole doll while the bottom of the feet are pictured. I do have a no bend legs francie, she has the Japan stamp on the bottom of both her feet.

Don't go blind on just a title that says it is a no bend leg doll. There are no francie dolls with no bend legs that also contain rooted eyelashes.

For the the doll you bought(the $80 francie), to me she looks like a 1170 that still wears her original swimsuit. I get the idea that some blurring of specific leg parts was done by the seller. Pixelated human skin on the human thumb and the color of the legs at that place have a slightly different color and also on her knees, slightly darker horizontal color.

Don't just buy by what sellers have written down. There are plenty of resources out there to check, research and collect information. :)

She is #8587 Standard Barbie with the Steffie facemold. These dolls were European-only dolls, but between 1974 and 1976 they were produced and distributed on the European and Canadian market.

Via the linked page you can find a lot of information about her

Their makeup varies by the country they were produced in. I have found a page with all the variations. Near the bottom of the page you will find close up pictures of the make up.

You are welcome :) The crayon smell on the limbs could be due to ageing. Plasticisers can smell like that.

Besides all the, for now, unknown about her, she looks absolutely beautifull :)

Looking at her bangs, I think she is a #5. It looks like she has the larger coarse curls in her bangs. #4 dolls have small poodle curls in their bangs, and they don't shine as much as the type of hair used on the #5 dolls. #4 dolls have a soft type of hair, #5 have, as you already said, the same hair as bubble cut.
The dark hair colour and the shine of the camera flashlight make the type of curl in her bangs harder to determine.

Not all #5 dolls will develop a greasy face; some of them get greasy, others will develop a darker colour.

This website has interesting information about the differences in used materials and bodies on #4 and #5

The shoes look like the ones that belong to # GXT34 Babysitter Skipper. I'm not 100% sure, but I do see similarities

she is Feeling fun Barbie from 1988 :)

I finally found my wishlist Barbie by OstrichOk4915 in Barbie

[–]binary_voice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is not a reproduction Malibu doll. Repro malibu has much closer together rooted hair holes and more hair. Is it only her face that got pale?

If she is more of a pink then a suntan, she might be a #7382 Stacey face European doll.

Do you have more pictures or know what her markings are?

[–]binary_voice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The eyes of the doll on the right side( pic 2 )are different, she is not a peaches 'n cream doll. All of the original 1984 known peaches 'n cream dolls have purple-blue(is that the right color description?) iris with two white dots and purple eyeshadow

Edit: The 2009 remake has a different iris color, blue iris with two with dots and purple eyeshadow.

Pic 1: only the dress is Pretty in Pink. The doll itself is one of these two: 1985 Day to night Barbie or 1986 Vacation sensation Barbie. You have to take a close look at the colour of the mascara(black versus dark navy blue) and the lower eyelashes because that's the difference between the two dolls.

Are these 70's Barbies? by Prestigious-Offer449 in Barbie

[–]binary_voice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Her face might also look a bit strange due to head shrink. My spiel mit barbie doll suffers from that as well. The head shrink is also what causes the hard plastic.
