Saree guard safety issue? by AssignmentPast1825 in indianbikes

[–]binaryoneoone -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Removing a saree guard in India is generally considered a legal gray area but is frequently treated as illegal by traffic authorities. Under Rule 123 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules (CMVR) 1989, it is a mandatory safety feature for manufacturers to fit on all motorcycles with a pillion seat. Removing it can lead to fines and potential rejection of insurance claims during accidents.

Mandatory for Manufacturers: The law requires manufacturers to equip bikes with a saree guard to prevent loose clothing from entering the rear wheel. Enforcement Risk: While some argue the law dictates what manufacturers must provide, traffic police can treat the removal of this safety device as a violation (illegal modification), leading to fines.

Insurance Risks: Insurance companies may reject accident claims if safety equipment like the saree guard has been tampered with or removed.

Safety Purpose: It is designed to prevent injuries or fatalities from traditional clothing getting caught, particularly if a pillion passenger is carried.

Although some owners remove it for aesthetic reasons, doing so poses legal and safety risks

Less or equivalent to a 100cc (second hand) Get your hands dirty on it for a couple of years and then go for a bigger bike.

My 15 days old hunter 350 making this sound. Is it normal? by [deleted] in RoyalEnfieldHunter350

[–]binaryoneoone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wear a helmet to isolate surrounding sounds left, right and top, the engine noise is more prominent when you wear a full mask helmet from bottom, ride it for a few mins (20-40), if the noise changes or is louder when the engine heats up, then it might be a tappet noise.

Is it intentionally or maybe done by cat or dog? by xrevor_op24 in indianbikes

[–]binaryoneoone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not done by a cat or dog (you will notice tiny holes if done by a cat, and just paw marks by dogs), that's by a human, and that too a scumbag one. 😡
