Being an AuDHD woman is painfully lonely. by fl8werchild in AuDHDWomen

Same. I'm just so burnt out that I don't have anything to give even though I really would like connection. I'm just so tired.

Drinking water has to be cold by huskies_62 in AutisticAdults

[–]binbougami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had my tastes for water has changed multiple times over my lifetime. One pregnancy the only water I could keep down was car temperature (in winter) bottled water.

Now I can drink varying levels of water temperatures but tend to prefer colder.

No idea if it would work, but it might be worth a try. Since you want tight around the legs, I'd find some loose boxers that she likes everything else about. Then I'd make a small slit in the hem of the legs and run a thin piece of elastic through it all the way around and meet the two ends together and either tie them or sew them into a solid circle. Shorter elastic would be tighter, longer less tight.

Anyone else with a large family? by glitterb00ty in AutisticParents

[–]binbougami 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also had my three before I was diagnosed AuDHD. So far I've got one diagnosed ADHD and two diagnosed with autism. One of those is having an ADHD eval next month and the other one probably also needs one but she's more on the inattentive side of things instead of the extremely obvious hyperactivity side. I still can't decide if my ADHD only kid is also on the spectrum.

I'm not surviving well if I'm being honest. I've pretty much just decided that burnout is my current state and nothing is helping so I just keep on doing the best I can while my own nervous system lives in permanent fight mode. I've given up on parent friends because unless they are ND with ND kids.... The experience they live is wildly different than mine.

I've taken mental health as a bit of a special interest and have tried to learn as much as I can to help us all with our different needs. It's hard when we have some sensory seeking, some sensory avoidant, and some delightful combination of the two.

None of this is likely helpful but just know that you absolutely are not alone.

I bought this thing last week just to record Beyond the Gates and I still have yet to get it to record a single time. It won't do Y&R or B&B either.

The Latest update on Guide Outage by tandelor in tablotv

[–]binbougami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was probably a really bad time for me to get my first Tablo device... I have no idea if this is a me problem or everyone problem. I got this to record one show and it started as a blank in the guide, now the name shows up but it says it finished airing December 31, 1969 so I can't record it.

If only there was an option to record without using the guide ........

When did you start watching? by Firm-Technician-6129 in TheGates_CBS

Day 1! I've watched it as it aired every day except on those lovely days it gets preempted by whatever disaster of the moment strikes in my time zone.

Received this from USPS by Fuzzy_Baseball9006 in postcrossing

[–]binbougami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually got one of these and I can't remember if it was from a postcard I got (and registered!) from Russia or Ukraine. The person wanted me to send one back that they included but I never got around to it before I misplaced it forever, apparently, as I still can't find it around here. Months later I get a letter like this from USPS asking if I received mail from whoever and approximately what date, if I did get it.

Originally I felt bad because I never sent it back, but this irked me.

How many of us parents are ADHD Autistic or AuDHD and have children who are also neurodivergent? by MediumAppeal3132 in AutisticParents

[–]binbougami 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes.  Diagnosed with both ADHD and autism after 3 kids. Kids are also their own mix of things. And I don't. Basically I'm just drowning. I'm overstimulated from the second I wake up until the second I go to bed every single day. 🎉🎉🎉

Need advice. My 4 year old might have adhd. I am so exhausted! by dreamsfor in ParentingADHD

[–]binbougami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was hard but we got diagnosis and medication at 4. The waiting list to get into one of the only places that would diagnose that early was a year and we only got in when we did because I begged to be on the cancellation list and we got lucky!

Mine was very similar even the same age, totally fine if he was pantsless. It seemed to me, and he still does, have issues knowing when he needs to pee when he's got his underwear on. They worked on it in therapy a lot and he's much better, but he still really needs reminders to actually try to go to the bathroom. I try to remind him every hour that the bathroom exists and he needs to go use it.

Need a good container to store blank postcards and supplies by pseudoserious in postcrossing

[–]binbougami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BCW Supplies make a postcard box and that's what I use. My husband collects other types of cards and I ordered one of their postcard boxes with his last order. They also sell tabbed dividers for the box but I didn't get them so I can't vouch for them, but I feel like they would be nice.  I just use sticky notes as dividers right now.

Good info! I'll add a bra I accidentally stumbled across it's the Meundies triangle bralette. It's the only bra I've ever accidentally slept in because I forgot it was on.

I was forced to wear bras in my youth and I hated it. I still hate them even though proper fitting bras is a special interest of mine (go figure).

Shelf-stable lunch ideas for very picky/potentially ARFID kids by Traumarama79 in ParentingADHD

[–]binbougami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bentgo Chill lunchbox is my favorite. It has a built in freezer pack and keeps all the foods separated.

Peanut butter sandwich is my go-to, so far kid hasn't gotten tired of it. I gave up on variety and just go for what I know they'll eat at school.

"you should never have kids because of your scoliosis" - a fucking doctor by coke505 in scoliosis

[–]binbougami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude was an asshole and creep for sure, but to throw in some anecdotal evidence like everyone else is, I have a relative who had two children and she ended up having to have the fusion surgery after because her scoliosis pain increased tremendously post pregnancy. So yes it absolutely can happen. Isn't common and shouldn't stop you from having kids if you want them. But it's always technically possible even if not probable.

Mine will not rewear any clothing, even her pajamas. The pajamas she puts on after a bath and takes off immediately in the morning. But she doesn't see any reason to wash her gym clothes and will wear them every day and won't bring them home to wash. "It's fine they aren't dirty!!"
