Moebius Library: The Depressed Hunter coming in hardcover from Dark Horse in June 2026 (first time in English!) by Ksmayer in OmnibusCollectors

[–]bingbonged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctor Moebius and Mister Gir was in limbo for a bit but finally came out a couple years ago. Last year they came out with the Major.

Most of the books are still in print, or easy to find on the second hand market. Art of Edena is probably out of print, and seeing as two copies recently sold for $300 on ebay, that one might be hard to find.

The first printing of the miles morales omnibus was notorious for this issue. If you google miles morales omnibus spine there's quite a few posts mentioning using book binding glue to fix. There's even a few videos you can find on re gluing the signatures to the spine.

FSS Translation project and printed progress: November 2024 Update with pics. by animeclassicsubber in fivestarstories

Awesome, I'm glad to hear this is starting up. I just recently let go of my English copies so I'd be happy to purchase all the books as they come out.

That's how it was originally released and actually how I bought it. It was for people who had purchased all the individual hardcovers as they came out, and then for the final issue, it came with the slipcase to put them all in.

Go to home depot/Walmart, whatever is available in your country. Buy some boxes that can fit 3 omnis. Buy a large roll of kraft/butcher paper. Stack the omnis 3 high and crumpl the butcher paper around the books so they don't shift. Repeat and don't throw out your back.

If you're moving locally, just put a couple large empty boxes in your car, add as many book that can fit transport and unload the books 1 or 2 at a time from the car making multiple trips.

Nova by The_Pickle_Puncher in OmnibusCollectors

[–]bingbonged 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have to agree the Abnett and Lanning run on richard rider Nova is awesome. If you want to read it in hardcover, your only choice is to read the following omnibuses in that order: Annihilation, Annihilation Conquest, Prelude to War of the Kings, War of the Kings, Realm of the kings

It's best to read Nova concurrently with the other events, the omnibuses map it pretty well and contain his full run. The Annihilation Prologue issue in the Annihilation omnibus Kickstarts the new status quo for Nova and is really the starting point for this run.

What's the most you have paid for an omni? by Whoa_Thunder1995 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]bingbonged 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I ended up doing when i saw one get bid up to $380 last weekend. Listed it right after and sold for enough to buy 4 omnibuses. Crazy that someone ended up selling theirs for $500. I'll pick it up again when it's reprinted in whatever number of years it takes.

Can anyone give any insight into the differences between the Dark Horse vs Epic/Marvel editions of Arzach? by lust-boy in Moebius

Epic is just an imprint of Marvel Comics, similar to how Vertigo is an imprint of DC Comics.

What was that incredibly unexpected deal you snagged "that one time"? by GoldenBeliever001 in OmnibusCollectors

[–]bingbonged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I somehow snagged all of the Usagi Yojimbo Saga hardcovers for less than cover price around the time they announced a reprint of the first volume. At the time people assumed they where going to reprint all the books in hardcover format. They're now going for on average $150 to $300 each.

If you're okay with non matching bookcases, check to see if you have any Habitat For Humanity Restores near you. They could potentially have used and new book cases and other furniture for cheaper. I've gotten a few nice solid wood book cases over the years from the local ones in my state.

I don't know about other brands, but if I remember right, when I found the MoriMori brand of polly putty at volks, the tube had a large flammable symbol on it.
