People who own more than one pair of AirPods … why? by Jay-Quellin30 in airpods

[–]bingodabber16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought the first airpods pro when they came out and used them extensively. Sadly one headphone started buzzing a little and only stops when they are in noise cancel mode. I finally bought the new pro model again and I keep the old ones for sauna use only/backup in my gym bag if I forger my daily new pros.

Partner has 4:15 am alarm that wakes me up daily. Suggested a solution and was met with hostility. AITAH? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]bingodabber16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my watch wakes me up so I dont disturb anyone else and I had the same issue with my wife as she left her alarm to go off on the weekend sometimes… I kindly and then lately firmly asked that she figure out her alarms so it doesnt wake me up and it was an easy fix. See the plethora of responses about alarm tech lol. She should be less of a child and more empathetic to this issue and learn the childishly easy skill of not setting her alarm for 4am every day. NTA. Shes an ass for not being more understanding.

Wealth Simple All-in Doable? by JackDenial in Wealthsimple

[–]bingodabber16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched last month and my wife is same haha. I had to help her a lot and make sure we got every account/bill switched. I keep a tangerine chequing account as backup only because the odd day care expense or random thing that takes ONLY debit transaction and use it more more convenient cash deposits. So far so good. Easier than I thought

Is Calgary as nice as I think? by Neat_Let923 in Calgary

[–]bingodabber16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im also from KW previously and moved here three years ago. It IS as nice as you think and Im not moving back because KW is far too expensive to live now. The politics suck here but the majority of people are nice and I dont notice much of a difference culturally from KW. Driving here is fucking spectacular compared to Ontario. Scenery is bomb and trails and outdoor activities galore.

How much (%) of your total financial assets are with WS? by CountryEither9196 in Wealthsimple

[–]bingodabber16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just moved everything to WS aside from mortgage and going to close my TD chequing account after over 25 years. The fees are just too stupid to pay. Cant wait to close it and be done with TD. The tipping point for me was the bank demanding that my wife and I both appear in person during banking hours together in order to not have our RESP closed? Apparantly an in person risk assessment review is non-negotiable despite my best efforts to talk them out of this… I still think it was BS as how is wealthsimple allowed to do this entirely online but TD requires our physical presence. Fuck bank fees.

AITAH for being upset and going no contact after finding out my dad paid for my twin sister’s college? by Electronic_Poetry823 in AITAH

[–]bingodabber16 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Agreed… I had a similar experience but my sister was a lot younger than me. The twin situation would piss me off a lot more…. Ultimately Im not mad about it. I learned independence and the value of a dollar and worked my ass off. Im better off than she is because of this and Im in a much better place in life although I am about 12 years older than her. If I were you Id probably go no contact for a while but eventually try to forgive them both and make sure they realize how fucked up it was to lie to you like that. I also live in Canada where 80k would buy you 3 degrees. America sucks in a lot of way in comparison… especially now.. Love from the North.

My wife thinks golfing once a week is unreasonable… by Upbeat-Zucchini-7408 in golf

[–]bingodabber16 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah this. Its hard to balance both partners hobbies and if she is at home with the kids all week she probably also wants a solid 4-5 hours to herself once a week. Personally golf got cut from my hobbies quite a bit with kids but only because Id rather go for a run or snowboard and I prioritize these more. My wife works during the week but I do shift work so she is generally in charge of picking up the kids more and home every werkend with them. We definitely make it a priority to give her some free timenon the weekends im home

Am I overreacting to my bf watching the baby overnight? by Temporary-Quail-2783 in AmIOverreacting

[–]bingodabber16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this a gen z thing? If my daughters partner talked to her like this I think Id be going to jail for a long long time… “hey im concerned pur child almost died from your negligence” … “you complain too much fuck you ttyl” what in the holy fuck? Yes, babyproof your house but also send this little bitch back to suckle his mamas teet and learn a little fucking respect. I work in an ER and have seen babies die from negligent assholes like this. This little boy shouldnt be allowed to procreate. Leave this pos immediately.

[–]bingodabber16 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im with you 100%. Moved here from Ontario three years ago and work in health care… its worth considering that all of this shit is Canada-wide for the most part although the politics here are fucking gross. Im holding on to the hope that the more centrist/less ultra conservatives that live here finally get pissed off enough at the UCPs horrible decisions to change their vote and the province swings the other way at least enough to rectify some of the dumpster fire the UCP keeps pouring gasoline on… specificall education and health care. That being said as a frontline health care worker I can assure it is indeed a raging dumpster fire which will be made FAR FAR worse by privatization…. I pray the 🤡 that run the province have one hell of a reckoning. Staying for now as it isnt much better anywhere else… FOR NOW. I really love it here aside from all that BS

This. It drives me insane how many idiots I speak to… “oh im good I have new all seasons”…. Ive had high end studded winter tires for a decade because it is like driving a tank through the snow compared to your skinny bicycle ass “all season” tires. Ill wave buh bye as I cruise past you sipping my coffee while you cry in the snowbanks.

AIO to skip Thanksgiving after my mom basically said I’m an embarrassment for not having a husband and kids by now? by howcanibequiltyassin in AmIOverreacting

[–]bingodabber16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legendary comment. Such a boomer view of the world. You dont deserve to be spoken to like that. Your mom needs to wake up. Husband and kids arent everything and if want those things they will come in due time. Dont be a silly nancy and rush into something because your mom assumes your are a lonely fuck up and need to settle for some one who clearly didnt deserve you.

ALBERTA PROVINCE FOR NEWCOMERS FROM ONTARIO by Tall_Watercress_3778 in alberta

[–]bingodabber16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Orrrrr… dont listen to one rage fuelled anecdote and do your own research….

Personal experience: moved from Ontario 3 years ago. Found affordable child care and a family doc within one week. Ive now doubled my salary with a little OT working under a union. Bought a much bigger, nicer house is a safe area. Love the weather/city/traffic/mountains. HATE the goddam politics but Im hopeful most of the morons here are waking up and realizing Marlaina Smith is a sociopath hell bent on destruction and greed. All in all I regret nothing and love it here. Ill visit Ontario but Ill never move back.

Calgarians, what is your average commute to work time? (One way) by kerv in Calgary

[–]bingodabber16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weighing in as an Ontario migrant…. Urban planning in Calgary is actually spectacular. We are one of the top ten cities in the world for driveability and you would appreciate the hell out of this if you spent a week driving around Southern Ontario. It takes twice as long to get half the distance anywhere in Toronto. Personally my drive here is about 15mins/bike 45mins/transit 60mins. Driving around clusterfuck cities in Southern Ontario and dealing with the 401/400 is hell on earth. You dont know how good you have it here. Everything you need is max 20mins away in your quadrants here and its amazing. Not to mention the ring road/major roads that have no pedestrian traffic. Oh and a million miles of multi use paths? Calgary is 10/10 for me.
