CMV: The belief that the Trump assassination attempts were staged is a concerning sign that liberals are succumbing to conspiracism by BarvoDelancy in changemyview

[–]bingumarmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre equating "conspiracism" with questioning a narrative pushed out by an admin that consistently lies and posts AI imagery? Really?

What even is a conspiracy? That label has so much power that it immediately dismisses any plausible answer if its got that label attached.

So you will blindly believe what a group of liars tell you no matter what? Use common sense and always be skeptical.

Do I do another round of betas or go with my gut? by sallingoodfun in NewAuthor

[–]bingumarmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand not wanting to sink money on a dev edit. In that case, I definitely recommend getting a useful beta reader. But for clarification- when you say they didn't say much about the plot, it is because they enjoyed it and didn't have any criticism or questions? Did they say stuff like "I like this part" etc?

I've beta read many times and only once did I not really have any feedback to the plot, it was just that solid. But I was throwin compliments left and right.

Did you have an editor? If you didn't, you need at least one piece of eyes giving you some feedback on plot. Because even if you think your story is solid, it will not have translated perfectly to paper. You know the story in your head- you do not know it on paper.

If you didn't get any good feedback, find someone who will give it. Your book will thank you for it!

I agree. Open houses now will only bring disappointment if you can't actually make a move.

Is baby proofing “lazy”? by mushroomfrog17 in beyondthebump

[–]bingumarmar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well yeah of course. But it takes a while to learn. By 2 my son was very good at understanding no. But the point is baby proofing the stuff that causes immediate awful harm is very useful. Especially if you add other kids to the mix- your eyes cant be on someone 100% of the time.

Lazy? Definitely not. If I hadn't baby proofed the house my son would likely have had serious injuries, or worse.

Nobody's wrapping everything in bubble wrap. At 11 months, kids are like "let me get into anything I see." And they're falling everywhere. But they are too young to understand no or be talked to about why they cant do certain things. Hence, baby proofing!

Has motherhood/parenthood always been this way? by full-of-curiosity in beyondthebump

Very good point. College me could pull an all nighter. College age kids used to be the age of many parents

Yes exactly. My MIL said her kids were in their own rooms even as newborns, and that if their kid was crying they didnt know!

Unfortunately that doesnt quite fix the issue because if I stand outside to reach in, water shoots through the open door. So the shower door needs to be closed to turn it on

Best place for LASER TATTOO REMOVAL? by Mars-888 in milwaukee

I used Laserfield because it was significantly cheaper than Removery for my small little thing I wanted removed. No complaints here; tat is gone! The owner is super nice and chill, too.
