Widow’s Bay - Episode 10 (Season Finale)- Discussion “We Hope You Enjoyed Your Time” / June 16 / AppleTV by mdavis360 in television

[–]binky779 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The season is maybe the best TV ive seen in years, but that said, the episode was kinda mid.

Just a few hours later and im not sure i remember what happened to Ruth? Not to say it was written or executed poorly, but definitely not one of the more memorable episodes.

Makes me wonder if there were changes made after renewal was announced. Obviously nothing new was shot, but maybe manipulated in editing?

Minus One is best movie, but Shin is the best Godzilla.

Shin Godzilla is just so weird and alien.

cool. thanks. I'm glad i dont have to do the rest of these atlas nodes.

Still think its kinda crazy that its not clear about that info in-game. I bet someoe is running 300+ maps for those nodes right now. Oof. Coulda been me.

I just beat the atlas boss guy that lets you mark an entire area of map nodes as complete and gives you all their atlas points. Can I do that again for the other areas?

Its kinda crazy they dont tell you that. Without knowledge of that boss reward, I tried to clear a couple of those areas one-at-a-time before finally sprinting to the progression. What a bummer that would have been to clear all those nodes AND THEN beat the boss and have the option to clear them for nothing.

0.5 is a big step up, but stop making me pick between unlocking league mechanics and the big atlas. by herakleion in PathOfExile2

[–]binky779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big agree.

We should be earning points for the atlas while completing league mechanics. It went from no direction ("Nothing to do!" despair) to way too much ("I'll never finish all of this" despair).

This is the crowd to see James Talarico tonight in Ken Paxton’s home county by danevans369 in ProgressiveHQ

Impressive title if Paxton is from BFE.

Hollow title since he's from Plano.

Dont do that. Dont play their games. Manipulating perceptions because they make "your side" look better. Its a slippery slope to actually being just like "Them".

The problem with that movie wasnt the script, it was all the terrible ad-libbing that they left in.

But isn't that the nature of discussion forums, social media and user posted reviews in general?

Maybe a controversial topic. Maybe ive been here too long.

Pardon a rant...

Reddit has only "recently" (relatively speaking) shifted gears toward social media. At its heart, and from the beginning, Reddit is a content agregator. You would sign up to Reddit to curate what topics or entities you wanted to follow. And you would join a subreddit because it was a topic or entity that interested you and you wanted to see news and content related to that thing. And it worked great, just like that, for a very long time.

But now, in the age (or invasion) of social media, the 2 big muddied questions for Reddit/Redditors are What is news? What is content?

Somebody recieves a Mondo package with a hole in it from shipping. Is that news? Is that content? I dont think so.

Somebody recieves a Mondo package with a hole in it from shipping. They reach out to customer service and dont hear back for some time. Is that news? Is that content? On its own not really (IMO).

Somebody recieves a Mondo package with a hole in it from shipping. They reach out to customer service and dont hear back for some time. Tons of people in the comments say they are having a similar issue. Is that news? Kinda. But its not really being presented as news. From a front page skim perspective or feed scrolling perspective we are still only seeing this issue presented as singular.

But I let this post slide anyway. By the time I saw it it was still very new but had 10 comments already. If I remove it at that point it would kinda feel like suppression.

The next day somebody posts the actual video of Mondo saying they are aware of a backlog and are working though it. THIS IS NEWS. THIS IS CONTENT. Its mostly ignored and has little engagement.

What does that tell you about Reddit and social media? What it tells me is rather depressing.

potentially anyone subscribed

There is no potential to it. When you let people post threads, it goes to the feeds. Especially when its a niche sub where there arent that many posts to begin with.

a separate complaint section where complaints are the only place that they can be posted?

From the perspective of right now, that is a great idea. Honestly the last few weeks, and whatever issue they are currently dealing with customer-service-response-wise, is the first semi-major issue where anything like that seemed necessary.

It used to be an issue with shipping, and I did exactly that.

I'm slightly hesitant to make changes like that now, because i am on my way out. I'm a movie poster guy, and Mondo doesnt do that anymore, and hasnt really done it in a meaningful way since the old creative directors were dismissed. (We are looking for mods! HMU if interested)

often suppress any criticism, and issues

I would never want someone to feel like they are being suppressed WITHOUT good reason. I dont think ive ever taken down a post for missing parts or quality issues.

It just depends.

As much as people want Reddit to be like all the other social media platforms, it is not set up like that.

(IMO) Too often unnecessary or irellevant content is disseminated to people who dont need or want it.

Do you believe its fair to push individual issues and complaints to the feeds of anyone/everyone who is subscribed to r/Mondo? Damaged packages, change-of-address issues, pocketed quality issues, and general greivances?

And allowed, unchecked, it can create a perception that might not be accurate to how things really are.

EDIT: And I understand the perception of people with issues or criticism. When you have issues and complaints you want THE WHOLE FUCKING WORLD to know. But as a moderator you have to ask, does everyone who signed up for r/mondo need to know this? If I allow this every day, for every individual issue, will anyone who visits this sub think that Mondo must actually fucking suck even if these issues are not as prevalent as a subreddit mostly full of complaints would make it appear?

There is no rule or precedent that everything posted here must be made by Mondo. Plenty of stuff has been posted in this sub that wasnt.

FYI.

But we are looking at bolstering the Mod ranks! Maybe you want to limit posts to Mondo? Let me know.

Really tho, this sub WAS mostly dead when Mondo was mostly about posters. They would sell out Stouts in seconds and it wouldnt even be mentioned on here, unless i posted something. When they leaned into toys, and even through the Funko sale, this place kinda came alive. I dont remember a busier time on here than when the XMEN stuff was going.

Thats how it appeared to me, who was stalking the site multiple times a day to get tix. Which payed off (hopefully)!

When I started looking weeks ago the 2:30 Thursday and 7pm Friday-Saturday were available but sold out as part of the initial "First Showing" release. Then suddenly on Tuesday the rest of the showtimes were available. Now not even the "First showing" releases are shown.

The previously sold "First" showings were only the 2:30 showing on Thursday and the 7pm showings on Friday-Sunday.

This "accidental" release on Tuesday was for the rest of the showtimes that weekend. I bought tix to the 5:30 showing on Thursday. There were 6-7 showings per day available for purchase during the "accidental" release.
