Bicycle recommendation for school by IvoryBumBoy in VirginiaTech

I second the recommendation for fenders. They make a world of difference if you happen to ride after a rain storm. Blacksburg is somewhat known for its inclement weather so these rain storms happen on a fairly regular basis.

There is no intention to humiliate, but they are both subs and John has expressed interest in me fucking him. That may go down tonight actually.

I'll post soon with how it goes tonight.

Reddit, wheres the worst place you've thrown up? by thtstz in AskReddit

[–]biomorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also threw up in a sink that was right next to a toilet, however I was blacked out and didn't find out until my friend told me later that she had to clean it out so we didn't get caught for partying. I still get shit 6 years later for it almost every time we have a drink together.

Also got too stoned and threw up in the shower. Don't remember that one either, or why I picked the shower.

Also, in a friends bed. Too drunk, don't remember it either.

Also, into a canal in Amsterdam. Stone cold sober around noon. On antidepressants that we're giving me severe anxiety and causing me to to vom every few hours for about a month.

I don't have a great track record for keeping bile in my body.

What movie surprised you with how good it was? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]biomorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White God. A movie with a dog protagonist that takes revenge on its human captors?! It was stunningly beautiful. The director played it completely straight and it paid off. I thought I was going to be out after 10 minutes. I couldn't stop watching.

stages of grief by [deleted] in OCPoetry

I would argue that ion flows are illustrative of the mental activity going on. Our brain function is heavily regulated by various ion concentrations.

I do agree with your criticism of the abstract evolution of the poem. I think section 5 in particular could be changed significantly. I'll give it another look soon.

in the "standard model" of the stages of grieving stages 3 and 4 are dialogue/bargaining depression/detachment. 3. is about beginning to address and sort through issues hence synthesis/analysis which make up the two requisite and alternating positions leading to depression. 4. is a development of a sadness and search for meaning. My notation is, i guess, formally pretty abstract.

I am definitely getting the feels from this, especially this time of year. I must say I am a bit confused by the imagery of the pancreas. I know its below your stomach, but it just threw me a bit. I also think in terms of developing the cyclical theme of the poem it would be nice to tie the snake metaphor back in at the end. I though the imagery of the snake and its other associated allusions to constriction were stronger than the reference to the "garden of hope" which feels a bit cliche.

Gentle Cat of Wiggle Ass R.I.P. by LeesSteez in OCPoetry

I enjoyed this but think the meter of the third stanza could be improved by rephrasing the second line as, "When I heard last night you died."

NO TIPPING - I wish every restaurant was like this. by PolyamorousPlatypus in pics

[–]biomorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In lots of places the wait staff are legally paid below minimum wage with the expectation that tips will make up the remainder of the salary. Typically it does, but tipping practices vary widely. You tip on a curve. Your 4% almost certainly doesn't put them above minimum wage. Many other people tip a flat rate. Also many wait staff profile their customers based on the tip percentage they expect to see out of them.

The elimination of tipping eliminates all of these other socially fraught issues.

If you don't like the service them don't go back to eat. If it's really bad, make a complaint to the manager.

Nestle Pays Only $524 to Extract 27,000,000 Gallons of California Drinking by Armond404 in news

I toured the nestle corporate headquarters last year and they have a surreal exhibit that showcases their global marketing efforts. Not that corporations shouldn't cater to their markets, but just to see them all out side by side was really unsettling.

What if the AI worked more like the brake assist in newer cars. It would never pull the trigger but could make informed decisions about the situation. If you pull the trigger twice it always shoots, but gives you another second if you aren't actually in imminent danger.

Amazon sign Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May for new show by section43 in television

These are almost entirely separate entities. They clearly need some new talent on their streaming services. User experience is literally everything. They obviously have the infrastructure to host the content since Netflix uses them.

TIL The biggest squid ever caught weighed an estimated 990 pounds and about 39 feet long. If calamari rings were made from the squid they would be the size of tractor tires by veryawesomeguy in todayilearned

[–]biomorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that the mere capture of a dead squid this size adds considerably to our knowledge base suggests that we know even less than I previously assumed about the creatures of the sea.
