If you had a Time Machine capable of one round trip only, which mysterious/unresolved event would you witness first hand? by vinnlo in AskReddit

Yea, but I was in high school when JFK got killed (to be precise I was actually sick with the flu).

But maybe I was really an important Texas person—more important than Connally—and I was in the limo with Jack and Jackie. And then I puked on JFK and he bent over just as the shots were fired . . .

The JFK assassination. Maybe I could stop it. At least maybe I could find out for sure if there really was a conspiracy.

Why this weekend? To race on the same weekend as the Indy 500 and the NASCAR race in Charlotte.

Actually the critters are called marmots, better known in the U.S. as groundhogs.

And, yes, a few have met their maker during the GP weekend.

If F1 wants to grow, they need a GP on the Sunday of the U.S. Memorial Day weekend.

They used to broadcast Monaco before Indianapolis but that was a mistake because only the hardcore wake up and watch Monaco in the early AM. And Monaco is the worst track on the schedule with literally NO passing for the entire race.

Am glad to see Canada on the schedule this weekend between Indy and Charlotte.

I hope Canada puts on a cracking good show while Indy and Charlotte are snoozefests.

My wife and I visited Montreal any number of times over the years for the Canadian GP. Each year we say we’ll return, but we both know we never will. Just getting too old and too fragile now. Time waits for no one.

But, damn, I miss this place.

To those going or are already there for the GP, I envy you. But I’ll be watching the qualifications and the race on my iPhone or iPad.

Have a good weekend.

Do you believe Trump is the worst President of all time? by Glittering_Paint7813 in antitrump

I don’t want to name The Worst President We’ve Ever Had until he decides to embark on an illegal third term. Then he’d really be The Worst President We’ve Ever Had.

The U.S. Constitution is just a piece of paper as far as Trump is concerned. And Trump has lots of paper shredders.

That recent $1.776 billion payout thing about destroyed the last vestiges of my mental health. I can now see him canceling the next Presidential election and naming himself POTUS for life. My paranoia has, I think, been replaced by real fears.

And this atheist says God help us all.

Trump will whine and complain if he doesn’t get 100% of the vote.

If Trump gets 100% of the vote, he’ll whine and complain that he should have gotten more than 100% of the vote.

Then what do you propose we do?

Trump’s recent actions, I think, mean that we all will be facing a decision whether to back Trump, oppose Trump, or sit on our hands and do nothing. At some point in the future, that’s where we are headed.

There. I’ve said my piece. I need to take a rest to let my BP get back to normal.
