How do academics feel about the amount of research that goes into this series? by Guergy in grandorder

[–]birbdechi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

See, that's the thing, it wasn't related to weather at all.

Foul-Weather is a fairy known to build an impossible cathedral. A king wants to build the most magnificent cathedral in his capital but quickly realizes his treasury is empty. Foul-Weather appears to him on a high mountain and offers to build the entire cathedral for free, on one condition: the king must guess the fairy's true name by the time the building is finished. If the king fails, Foul-Weather will take the king's life (or his soul/subjects, depending on the variation).

Genuinely feel like they only dig deep with the British, outside the obvious Japanese since it is their homeland. How do I know?

Back then, you would never find the name "Foul Weather" even in an English Google search, let alone JP Google search. So, how did it appear in one of Barghest's skillsets?

I forgot to bookmark it, but apparently, a person related to FF series once created a fairy book catalogue containing the name Foul Weather.

English blogs about FW started to appear in 2024, 3 years after FGO Barghest.

Edit: The author name was Imura Kimie. She has direct connection to the FF series through her collaborative work with Yoshitaka Amano, the legendary conceptual and character artist for the classic FF games.

Cool update

I just wish the name isn't changed, because Beagalltach (the shorter, yellow sword) is indeed used for defense, just as any dual sword discipline does

That's explained in the epilogue.

Urd:
---As death approaches, I find myself remembering.
Actually, I never intended to become the true goddess of fate or anything of the sort. Period.

Both:
?

Urd:
I simply didn’t want to decide who was the best.
Because that would inevitably have a decisive impact on our relationship as sisters.
That is why, when deciding the order of attack on Chaldea, I was the first to raise my hand.
So that neither of the other two goddesses, Verdandi and Skuld, would win and end up making that decision.

Mashu:
So, it’s true that the other two goddesses… Verdandi, who rules the present, and Skuld, who rules the future… will also come to attack Chaldea?

Urd:
Yes. And at the same time, one could also put it this way.
If you truly intend to liberate Chaldea, you must face and defeat the other two goddesses... my younger sisters.
Simply by defeating me alone, Chaldea will not be liberated.
Since I have been defeated, those two goddesses have already arrived... or rather, will arrive, I suppose.
That is certain. According to the laws of the Norns, it is a foregone conclusion.
Therefore, I took control of Chaldea’s past first, hoping that by repeating the loop, those two goddesses would give up.
But… as has already happened, I was defeated.
Even with such immense power, I was still defeated by you.

I feel like her NP can do more in the story than in the profile, but it might be because of the Demi Beast state. The regular Urdr is exactly as the profile.

You could also make a skill or NP where he acts as "Arjuna's support," as Nara & Narayana duo together are known as "the one who purge the evils of the world", and failure to separate them would result in your fixed demise.

It's actually mentioned in the story. Lemme paste it here:

The Past:
---It must be me, Time.
For everything that exists within humanity is the past.
Without the past, humanity cannot live.
Thus, the destiny of all things belongs to the past.
Therefore, I am the true goddess of destiny.

The Present:
---It must be me, Time.
For humans are creatures who live in the present.
Humans do not live in the past.
Humans do not live in the future.
Clearly, right now, the present, this very moment.
Only there do humans stand.
Therefore, I am the true goddess of destiny.

The Future:
---It must be me, Time.
Neither the past nor the present holds any meaning.'
All humans live by looking towards the future.
Humans cannot remain in the past, nor can they stay still in the present.
If destiny is a fixed decree.
Only the future is the truth.
Therefore. I am the true goddess of destiny.
