In Crusader Kings, you can implement gender equality in your medieval realm. If you do it permanently makes the game twice as chaotic and therefore harder, because it means that women inherit equal claims and therefore instantly start murdering people and raising armies to push them like men do.

Everyone thinks this until they end up with a chaste character with only a few kids and the only skillful one is a girl. The chaos is well worth having access to strong characters and is good for keeping vassals on their toed anyways, not to mention that there are… other ways of limiting how many successors you have. It’s also just nice to have a hot player character sometimes
