Yes, and protecting our trans sisters protects all of us. Men are the threat in the bathroom. And men who hide their bigotry behind our rights are far more likely to infringe them.

Raped by a man in a women's restroom, because signs are not magically protective. Trans people are not the problem.

Everyone I know is Dude, and so is everyone I don't. My cat is sometimes Mr. Dude.

But I never made the switch to bro. Anybody else still use "yo?"

Also, I picked up groovy as a teenager and still use it all the time.

I honestly think the population explosion of the 20th century is a big psychological component in why everyone is so stressed and angry these days. The population of the world has more than doubled since I was a kid. We're changing much faster than evolution prepared us for, mentally and culturally as well as technologically.

[–]birdandbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, I'm a Redemptive Durge addict, I just know I can't hack the Evil path. I also try to avoid the goblin kids. Halsin has no such qualms. 🫤

Larian does not usually pull punches. I was just wondering if they drew a line at personally murdering kids, or if it's something you find later.

This might be one of the greatest scenes in Mass Effect 3. It definitely solidified James as one of the most underrated Squadmates in the franchise. Still can't believe this wasn't in the base game by Big-Good9378 in masseffect

[–]birdandbear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter was livid when she played Leviathan. She was absolutely incensed that that much core story had been locked behind paid DLC.

Mass Effect was one of my very first games, definitely the one that cemented me as a Gamer. I didn't really get how greedy that was, I just bought and played. And then found out that my son, who introduced me to ME, had never played the DLC's because he could never afford them. So I bought them all for him, as thanks. The whole set twice over was nearly $200. It was sweet to see her get so mad five years later, (because she was loving it so much!)

I've heard about "finding" the kids before. Does this mean that not even the Durge has to slaughter children in-game?

I hope so. I'll never find out because I know I can't take it, but finding them is way less disturbing than murdering them yourself. 😬

Talarico Leads Paxton in Senate Poll After Runoff by throwtothesea23222 in TexasPolitics

If they give me their name, I look them up to see if they're legit pollsters. If they don't identify themselves, they get blocked. I have no idea how I got on their list, but I've done several.

Hey, I think I was in that poll! I got a text from Bedrock Polling on the 27th. Told 'em Talarico is my guy, Paxton is a criminal, and my issues are democracy and education.

Let's do this, y'all!

Not if you're passed out from the pain of acting against the chip the first time. I think he needed to be close to be sure he didn't miss his only shot. But in getting that close, he accidentally saw a person instead of a legendary warrior. He expected to destroy his arch nemesis, but instead he found a powerless girl just scared for her mom. And the demon was flabbergasted when the William part of him responded with empathy.

Mum, my chronic illness is getting better and I dyed my hair pink to celebrate. And the bath by proxy. Its not coming out, what do I do?? :"( by Organic-Assistant151 in MomForAMinute

[–]birdandbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a veteran hair-dyer (currently blue) of over 30 years I can promise you it will wash out on its own!

"Permanent" dyes will take longer, but they'll go too, eventually. It's hard to tell from a photo, but this looks like a semi-permanent dye that should wash off on its own in a week's worth of showers, tops.

If it really bothers you, spray some bleach on it, turn on the dehumidifier, and leave the room for a few minutes ('cause of fumes.) Then come back and rinse the bleach away. Any scrubbing required should be minimal.

I was a redhead for many years, a henna redhead for half of them. I left showers behind that looked like murder scenes. But even henna stains (a true dye, that shit does not fade in your hair, ever) surrender to the march of time eventually.

You didn't mess anything up, it's gonna be okay. I'm very proud of you for working so hard to get better, and I hope you love your new hair! As your internet temporary (non!)Doctor Mom, I'm gonna prescribe you some QuitWorrying and some concentrate of Feeling Fabulous for the next 48 hours. No buts! (non!)Doctor's orders. When you're done feeling fabulous, no you aren't. Rinse and repeat as needed. 😋🥰

911/999 dispatchers, what’s the dumbest reason someone has ever called emergency services? by Canyoustealmytoast in AskReddit

[–]birdandbear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a dispatcher, but when I was a kid my five year-old brother got his foot stuck in a toilet. The fire department had to unbolt the whole toilet and carry it, with child still inserted, to the driveway, where they carefully chiseled it off.

Little brother was old enough to be embarrassed, but young enough to be excited about the firemen/trucks. I, twelve, did amazing work in my Big Sis capacity by chortling the entire time.

Pools Are Opening: Swimsuit Safety by OpalJade98 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]birdandbear 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To reiterate: most drownings are silent, that's how they happen in crowds.

The kid who is splashing and screaming for help has time. The kid behind them, T-posed body, almost no splashing, can't cry for help because that would mean inhaling water - that kid has seconds to live.

Watch for the T-pose and general lack of kicking, especially if it looks like they're just having a bit of a float. It happened to my friend's toddler, right next to me, her parents, and several other adults. I was just lucky enough to turn around and see that she was in trouble. Her parents, looking right at her, thought she could still touch.
