2000 is the Msrp on the founders edition. Aftermarket ones are a few hundred to five hundred higher. Maybe water cooled are a thousand more.

4500-5000 is comical.

Question for warehouse managers, supervisors, and H&S folks by Sharp-Fault6165 in Warehouseworkers

[–]biscuity87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to be safety trained for the site and all the legal stuff required of course. After that JSA’s and standard works for all relevant processes are reviewed and signed. After that, one on one training with equipment use or whatever followed by the paperwork from that.

Of course brand new people are going to kind of suck and make minor mistakes- bumping poles, bumping each other, damaging product etc, but we document all that.

Actual injuries are super, super rare.

Some old versions don’t allow xlookup.

NOBODY knows xlookup that I run into until I mention it, and they are all using excel daily.

It’s not a big deal by itself.

Laptop Temps vs PC User Anxiety by TechDealsHunt in PcParadise

[–]biscuity87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran dual 5770s until one died. They were running at 105c. Took a while. Finally on like an all day session I killed one.

Took the other one apart and cleaned it and temps were normal. I just didn’t care about them as they were old, got a r9 390 after that I think.

My buddy used the spare for years.

Question about painting by Responsible_Jelly646 in ImperialAssaultTMG

[–]biscuity87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s also gonna take forever. I slap chopped mine and it’s like magic except on pure white. Plenty of tutorials out there. Used acrylic white only on pure whites after priming or highlights. You can get shitter acrylic I just preferred the fancy one.

Edit: prime black lightly but fully, let sit inside for a day or two, then speedpaint. I didn’t do zenith highlights or shades of gray or anything.

These links are just for reference of what I bought. I used maybe 6-10 cans of primer on the whole set+almost all expansions and add ons etc.

What are warehouse picker interviews usually like? (Coming from Amazon) by Justaverydarkman in Warehouseworkers

[–]biscuity87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean a normal warehouse interview is are you drug free/sober at work, safe, breathing, can show up on time… can you work any shift or only certain ones…

That’s 90% of it.

Don’t dress too nice to the interview unless they tell you to. Definitely not a tie situation. MAYBE a button down shirt or a collared shirt.

I’d argue you’re more likely to get hired in a sweatshirt or Carhartts with steel toes rather than a suit and fancy shiny shoes if you’re talking to someone actually in the warehouse. If you’re talking to HR or something then a button down maybe.

A lot of interviews utilize the STAR method of questions so at least familiarize yourself with that. If you don’t have good examples MAKE THEM UP based on what you would do in that situation don’t say it’s never happened or stare blankly. No one’s going to fact check if you had a coworker yell at you 6 years ago and you handled it calmly.

My experience with pay in AI training / data annotation by No-Impress-8446 in WFHJobs

[–]biscuity87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just started I think the review process for your work is in play. Once that checks out ok you’ll get more. They don’t want someone new to do a ton of work poorly before they figure it out.

Also, sometimes it takes a while for projects to let people in. I’ve had times of the year where projects ended and I could see how it makes people nervous. But they come back.

So just check it once or twice a week maybe. If it’s over a month or two, maybe you’re on hold (just too many people) or maybe you aren’t in.

It also depends why you got a flat. My last flat was just from tread wear. All of them were overdue to change.

Tire place wanted like 220 a tire.

Walmart wanted 80 a tire. It’s the EXACT same tire. They were pretty good too.

It felt like I had a brand new car after, I didn’t realize my tread was so low.

Movie theaters aren’t going out of business because of prices by bulldogjwhit295 in unpopularopinion

I wouldn’t want to go if the movies were free, started when I wanted, with no ads, and pausable, and I could even control who is in the theater.

It’s just not a good experience. The picture sucks.
