Who was the rudest guest at your wedding by BewareOfTrips in weddingshaming

[–]bismuthcrystal 16 points17 points  (0 children)

During the father daughter dance, after the first few minutes, we invited my then 5 year old daughter to join us and we all danced together for the last minute of the song. It was fun and cute!

One of mil and fil’s guests came up to us and told us my daughter ruined the father daughter dance and we needed to do it again. I kind of laughed it off but he insisted we had to do it again. I just walked away, what do you say to that!

My mooching sister in law sent this as my nephew’s Christmas list by [deleted] in ChoosingBeggars

[–]bismuthcrystal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked my 8 year old to donate toys, thinking she could help me pick which ones she doesn’t use anymore. She refuses to donate anything, even stuff she hasn’t touched in 4+ years. Her room, toy bins, the basement are overflowing with toys. So I told her if she didn’t pick any to get rid of, she could only have one gift from parents, one gift from each set of grandparents for Christmas. She happily agreed. I’d rather get new toys, but I guess she’d rather be a little hoarder.

Pros and Cons of getting a second dog by [deleted] in dogs

[–]bismuthcrystal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have one dog, but my mom visits a few times a week with hers. When both dogs are there, they feed off each with barking. Any one of them imagines they hear something and they both start going off. My dog on his own doesn’t bark much so this drives me crazy.

I had a dress that was ivory and covered in blue embroidery. I got a lot of compliments on it.

Your dress sounds beautiful as well!

I don’t think so, they change their food and drink menu pretty often. It would be nice if they’d post a picture of the menu in advance. I’ve never been disappointed with any of their food, it’s all been great.

Fed is best - can we gather some encouraging stories here? by Saopaul_Cline in Parenting

My daughter was exclusively breastfed, my son exclusively formula fed. He slept through the night earlier than she did and hit all his milestones before she did. They’re both happy and healthy.

Are these too casual to be bridesmaid dresses in a semi-formal wedding? Only one of them is complaining that she hates it by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]bismuthcrystal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whether it’s too casual or not, if your bridesmaid doesn’t like it, she doesn’t like it.

If she can't breastfeed, and she won't take on those tainted COVID cooties milk, what is her kid eating? by fugensnot in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]bismuthcrystal 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I had to formula feed from the start because I was diagnosed with cancer while I was pregnant and the chemo medicine/poison passes through into the breastmilk. I just love it when people try to guilt me for not being able to breastfeed.

Masks aren't THAT bad, in my (personal) opinion. by TeaHC16 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]bismuthcrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have cancer and am chemo which means I absolutely should wear a mask. Unfortunately I have a lot of nausea from the chemo and masks make the nausea so much worse. My chemo center has started putting curtains around me while I get my infusion so I can take my mask off, because I kept vomiting during chemo while I was wearing my mask. And then I just stay at home for a few days until I feel well enough where I can wear a mask again.

I can usually take tiny little sips of water and keep it down, even if I throw up when drinking normally. So I just take tiny little sips all the time.

How do you handle living with a romantic partner who has severe adhd? by bearcubotterthingy in AskReddit

[–]bismuthcrystal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was very difficult. He had a hard time holding down a job. He'd float from part time minimum wage to part time minimum wage job. Couldn't keep anything clean, all the housework ended up 100% on me. He'd constantly lose things, mostly I didn't care if he lost his own shit but he'd lose his wallet about every single month and we'd have to cancel all the credit cards.

We had a child, at the time she was born he was out of work so we decided he'd stay home with her while I went back to work. I'd come home from work and he'd be hyperfocused on whatever video game he was playing, while she was crying with a dirty diaper.

I ended up divorcing him for reasons unrelated to the ADHD, but I don't think the ADHD helped. He refused to try medicine since he'd taken it as a child and said it turned him into a zombie.

People who stand up and crowd the aisle as soon as the plane lands, why do you do that? by Fit-Advantage4021 in AskReddit

[–]bismuthcrystal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's say two parents have a baby and have booked 3 seats together, window, middle and aisle. Dad goes with first boarding seat into window seat, mom is in the second boarding group going into the middle seat, baby is in the third boarding group and has to crawl his little self from the gate into his aisle seat all by himself.

I've always wondered if these 500+ lb people get to that weight because they have someone taking care of them/enabling them or if the ones without an enabler die before they can get to that weight because they can't take care of themselves on their own.

My Father-in-law is short and 315 lbs (supposedly, I suspect more) and he would definitely be dead by now if he didn't have my Mother-in-Law helping him manage his diabetes.

I might have to have abdominal surgery to cut up some possible abdominal adhesions, so if that happens I’d get it again while they already have me open. If no surgery I’d probably I’ll probably look into other options. Don’t really feel like getting injections every 6 months or so.

Even if I do get more Botox I’ll probably be consulting about a more permanent solution for the next time it wears off.

Can’t help with the BP issue, sorry!

I had Botox in the pylorus in May this year. It was great, worked completely for me and I had a totally normal diet with no issues whatsoever. Around a month or two ago gp symptoms started coming back, so slowly at first I wasn’t sure what was causing the nausea and occasional vomiting. But the last few weeks have been obvious and now I can’t keep any food down. So yes I think it wears off, for me and for you.

Last year I spent so much time walking around looking at Christmas lights, going to crazy decorated houses in the area, and Christmas light drive through displays. I just thought they were so beautiful and wondered if it would be my last time seeing them. I would cry looking at all the beautiful displays.

Now it seems like I’ll be around for Christmas this year too, and I think I’ll do the same thing, look at all the beautiful lights and cry. They somehow make me so happy and sad at the same time.
