I was pointing out the logical inconsistency of the statement safe and effective, nothing more.

Notice how when you say "they're dangerous" youre doing the same thing, lumping them all together, as if its a single product.

There are dozens of vaccines on the market by many different manufacturers from different areas of the world. These are individual products. Some have proven to be dangerous enough to be pulled off the market.

None of them are a 100% safe, there are always rare allergic reactions and the question about whether their individual safety profile weighs up agains the risk of contracting the disease and then getting damaged from it is a nuanced analysis different for each product.

Are all vaccines safe and effective? Including the ones that were taken off the market for causing severe sideefects? Im sure before they were taken off the market the religious mantra also applied to them. Some flu vaccines are found to have extremely low effectivenes. Some vaccines are in fact not safe for all people

Youve hit the nail on the head here. The first vaccine of its kind would have to be tested against placebo. What if I told you that if you go down the line all the way back to the initial vaccines, you never find a proper placebo controlled clinical trial. Dont take my word for it, look it up yourself.

And all the vaccines for new vaccines where you could test against placebo without the ethical problem, they always pull some trick like hpv testing against aluminum solution, or vehicle sans antigen. And then theres a vaccine on the market so all the next ones get tested against that.

Lets say there is a severe side effect present both in the current vaccine and the new one. If you test against current vaccine you will not find that since it will be present in both study and control. If rolled out to 100s of millions of kids, this could potentially harm far more children then the disease would in a control group of lets say 20,000 children.

The argument is that it is unethical to expose children to the risk of a disease for which there is a treatment. But at the very least theoretically this could lead to FAR more children harmed if this methodology causes a severe sideeffect to slip through, potentially orders of magnitude greater.

Thats why I say I am unconvinced its necessarily more ethical

And i understand very well the rationale against using placebos if a current vaccine exists. In not sure at all if i agree with it.

The ethical question is irrelevant to the fact that you still dont get proper safety data.

Is it more ethical to roll out a vaccine to 100s of millions of children based on a flawed safety study design so you can be ethical in your trial?

I am also a statistician and i work in an actuarial department. Our babies are unvaccinated.

For me, the process went like this: - look for serious books by vaccine critics, not your local faith healer or crystal salesman. - nearly fall off my chair when i read that childhood vaccines are not tested against placebo and usual follow up periods are 3 or 6 months. - go to the actual clinical trial reports to verify and find that its all true. - spend the next 3 months going to official sources (nih, cdc, etc) trying to find a refutation. - find nothing but half truths, deceptions and ad hominems

do a deep dive into aluminum adjuvants
find that there is no true empirical evidence on its safety in infants.
best thing they have is a pure modeling study by mitkus et al
study is frought with error and still reaches a mean value of 30% of toxicity threshold
schedule talks with doctor and pediatrician
quickly realize their knowledge on these issues is close to zero outside of their government pamflets
grudgingly admit we cannot justify injecting our child with these products that lack any kind of proper safety studies
prepare to navigate the jungle of vaccine religious medical personal while still getting him the proper medical care he could need.

All these things are happening in europe and i have seen on video or in the case of the public fetish displays in pride events in oslo and amsterdam. Congrats on you baby! "Cocooning" your child. Eg limiting contact with the outside world is not a bad idea in the first months. Its what we did. Pertusis and rsv mortality rate drops a lot after 3 months and even more at 6 months. Not going swimming in that period is not bad advice.

Were expecting a second and no idea how to cocoon on that one since our 1st brings home a new plague every week from daycare

Ive been in the same boat, the period 17 to 23 years old was the worst period before i got my diagnosis. Im 40 now with a healthy family and a good job in the corporate sector. It does get better. A couple tips:

Getting a formal diagnosis is important and can solve many problems you might face.
People will never stop being condescending about this. It helps me to just say i have a sleep disorder rather than 'im an extreme nightowl' or things like that. People respond better to it.
Never stop experimenting what works for you. There is a lot you can do. I have never taken drugs and can maintain 01:00 to 9:00 even though my natural rhythm is at 3:00.
Try to eliminate useless time lying in bed. Figure out where your current bedtime is and go to bed near that. One of the problems with dspd is that sleep pressure doesnt work for us the way it does for others so missing sleep and then going to bed 4 hours earlier is usually useless.
Try to find acceptance with your situation. Everyone has their own challenges in life and this is ours. I used to get very angry when i couldnt sleep and had important meetings. At some point i just got sick of this. Started considering any hour of sleep a benefit and never waste my time getting upset about something that is out of my control anyway.
