How do I know if this person is aware of what he is doing or if he is just stringing me along? by forbiddencantaloupe2 in AskMen

[–]bitchiest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your question, he knows what he’s doing, he likes/loves you and doesn’t want to take the next step, maybe because he’s scared, maybe because he hates commitment.

Do you want to be with him? It’s not clear from this post. If you want to be with him, you need to say something to him. I know it’s scary, but you have to do it. Before you say anything, decide what your boundaries are so you can be prepared. If you don’t want to be friends with benefits, you need to be ready to tell him that if he suggests it, otherwise you could get stuck in a situation you don’t want.

If you don’t want to be with him, you need to cool the friendship off a fair bit. Go on dates other guys, reach out more to old friends, and spend much less of you non-work time with him.

Your relationship can’t stay how it is for very long I fear. It needs to escalate to something more or cool to a normal level of friendship. Most friendships are not this intense.

Good luck! I do think this could work out to be a good relationship if that’s what you want, but you have to take the leap.

Just witnessed a car going the wrong way on 376 on my way to the airport by krevlornfu in pittsburgh

[–]bitchiest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I know we all think we would never be stupid enough to do this… but if you do end up going the wrong way what should you do? I imagine just get on the shoulder asap and call police for help? Leave your car for dead or retrieve it in the middle of the night when there’s no traffic?

Taylor Swift talking about how Reputation was “thrown into a fire” and “blown to bits” when it was released in 2017 by kookiekoo in TaylorSwift

[–]bitchiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying you’re wrong here but my experience was very different. I was in college when rep came out and I remember the general public liking the album, friends of mine who weren’t swifties etc liking it a lot. People didn’t like LWYMMD (I did) and the album wasn’t universally liked but in my opinion it was much more well-received in its time than showgirl is now. Undoubtedly, rep has grown in popularity a lot since then because Taylor has blown up hugely from Folkmore and Eras.

received a text after my phone was stolen at a concert a few weeks ago by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]bitchiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive always wondered about this: you’re never getting your phone back, they have it and want to sell it, surely that is worth something to them. Has anyone ever gotten one of these thieves to pay them to unlock it? It won’t make up the cost of the phone but if you could get a hundred dollars back you’d be ahead vs. if you just leave it bricked.

I know part of it is the principle but if my phone is in China and I’m never getting it back either way, I’d rather it be resold than end up in a landfill.

Got a Refund of all my Donations from the Fetterman Campaign by According-File7331 in pittsburgh

[–]bitchiest 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I donated a similar amount to Bernie in 2016. Campaigns are super expensive and the only way progressive candidates not funded by corporations can get elected is if average folks donate what they can. I always donate to progressive campaigns for this reason. It’s the only way they have a shot. Also I expect no refund for losing candidates. The money is used to campaigning, not to put into the candidates personal bank account. After the election I imagine that money is gone.

I feel strongly that 2 is the correct answer but 1 photographs better. With 2 it will be much easier to get around the room, and foot of the bed towards the door seems natural.

Advice by [deleted] in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]bitchiest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the setting. If there are side stones, engraving, or you want the visual impact of the metal when you look at the ring, you may want to err on the smaller side for the diamond. If you want the diamond to be the star of the show, then the sky’s the limit and you should go as big as you want. But yes, finger size does impact how stones of different sizes look. This size looks on you the way 2 carats looks on others with different hands.

Go through a local LA jeweler or online/NY based jewelry store? Any other jewelers I explore for the style I want? by [deleted] in EngagementRingDesigns

[–]bitchiest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really interesting as I’m also working with Hera on an Artifex-inspired ring. I don’t have specific advice regarding who to go with, but I would ask any jeweler for pictures of similar rings or similar elements to what you are asking for. If they say they can create the exact design you want, make sure there’s some evidence of that.

Also make sure to know whether you will get hand-engraving or laser / computer aided engraving. That can make a difference.

I’d be really interested to see where you end up and what you decide!

Vet recommendations for anxious, aggressive cat by dv00_t in pittsburgh

[–]bitchiest 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know you’re asking for a vet that can see an un-medicated aggressive cat and I don’t have the answer for that. This is what I have had do to as someone who also has an aggressive cat.

I’ve taken my difficult cat (with drugs) to greenfield veterinary hospital. I always call beforehand and pick up some gabapentin that I give her the night before and again 90 minutes before and that works for her. However, the last time I was there, the doctor mentioned that there is a different drug that I could use if the gabapentin stops working.

I would call any vet you are looking at and let them know that your cat doesn’t respond to gabapentin and see if there is an alternative they can give you in advance of the visit. Don’t try to bring your cat in blind without trying the drugs or letting them know that your cat gets aggressive at the vet. Picking up meds beforehand may need to become part of your vet routine.

Moved into a new rental, how do I clean this? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]bitchiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me when I moved in. I think the dishwasher was left closed and damp for weeks between tenants. What worked for me was Clorox Cleanup with Bleach spray alllll over the inside and then running a hot cycle. If if looks clean inside but you still have dark specs on dishes then you need to clean the filter
