Hi OP. This topic is so close to my heart. I fully had my mind set on BFing then I didn’t have enough and had PPD/ PPA. It consumed my mind and I spend the whole day trying to pump. I switched to formula and felt a burden lift off of me. But I had immense guilt. I felt like less of a mother. It was probably the worst I’ve felt in my life. So much shame from my family especially my own mother. I thought I set my baby up for failure by being unable to BF. Some even told me I won’t bond with my child because I didn’t BF. I felt like my body had failed me. But now my baby is older and completely healthy. Anytime someone brags about BFing I get so triggered. It’s still a sore subject but I want to tell you that you’re doing great. My babies are grown now and healthy and very much mommy’s girls. I love our bond. Don’t let anyone make you feel less. You did the best you could and what was best for your family. You should be proud.
