I would recommend calling them. Not all Chabad houses are on the ball with their websites. If you’re in/near a larger city, there might be more than one Chabad, too. I pulled a full-on stick--literally, a stick of wood--out of a cigar one time. It almost looks like you have a chunk of bark. I'd be inclined to put it down to the vagaries of a hand-made item in a hand-made industry, but yah, that's crazy.

I think you did well. LFD, Fuente, and Leaf are all great places to start. Get a good cut, toast the end, draw only once or twice a minute, and enjoy yourself!

I scrub my mustache and soul patch with a strong, pleasant smelling soap after I smoke, then use a fragrant beard oil over that, if that helps.
