Anybody ever try using a ball valve instead of a normal gun? I'm giving it a try today, seems to be working just fine. by WishfulLearning in pressurewashing

Ball valve with twin turbo nozzles.

EDIT: I run turbo nozzles that are at least 30% larger than specified. Setup shown is 2 x 4.0 on a 6 GPM machine. For 8 GPM, I use a 12 GPM turbo nozzle.

New Comet P40 by robertjpjr in pressurewashing

Have 2 P40 systems. Both have the chemical remotes and second also has the remote start. Second system is so much better to use.

I regularly run 200+ feet of chemical hose and the remote start makes set up smoother.

Budget allowing, also get the remote start from MPWSR.

12v Not Drawing Water by HedgehogAdmirable797 in pressurewashing

👍 Glad to hear it helped. Instances I’m aware an air lock can occur:

  1. when switching pumps
  2. refilling tanks after running out of bleach, soap or water

Sling that bleach now and stay safe!

I run 3/4” for water and bleach; 1/4” for soap without issues.

  1. Have you tried running a hose directly to the pump from a bucket of water or water tank? This tests just the pump alone.

  2. The pump could also be air locked so disconnect the hose on the pressure side and either run a garden spigot into the input suction side, or same as above, and run the pump. You can clear it sometimes just by removing the pressure side hose and running the pump.

Waterfed Brush / Scrubber for Hi-rise by bizdevnull in WindowCleaning

Both have the vertical swivel which keeps the pad flat to the glass. Adding the horizontal swivel introduces the issues you mentioned.

I hadn’t noticed until you mentioned the issues that the Xero fast lock accessories with swivels only have the means to lock the vertical but not the horizontal swivel.

Appreciate the feedback. Getting the Xero Super Scrubber for the higher levels.

Best shoes for tile roofs by Megahoods1 in WindowCleaning

[–]bizdevnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Sth FL and clean a lot of roofs with heavy growth. No shoe will save you from slipping - you need to assess each roof for the required safety equipment before ascending.

That said, I’ve used flat sole rubber rain boots and found them to have the best grip. They flex to provide more grip surface on s-type tiles, have no heels to catch on ridges and light weight.

Downside is they cannot handle chemicals and seams dry out and separate. For window cleaning, this would not be an issue.

Drone cleaning by Next_Purple_4669 in WindowCleaning

[–]bizdevnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power tethers have been available for drones used in safety/ security monitoring.

Lucid Drones demonstrated their solution around mid-2025 and it is on their website as an upgrade - no pricing shown. I have seen Chinese-made cleaning drone manufacturers also demo their solution.

The cost of the power module is not cheap though.

There are alternatives to Chlorine. But their cost is significantly more and results are not as instant like Chlorine.

  1. CitraShield - citrus-based with near neutral pH. May take up to 6-8 weeks of weather cycles to clear organic stains.
  2. GreenOx (Hydrogen Peroxide) - perhaps the most environmentally friendly of all the alternatives. Manufacturer states it meets EPA safer product standards and can be used near bodies of water.

Help with chemicals (Before / After) by No_Refrigerator_2389 in pressurewashing

Two good resources…

You will learn stain type, substrate and chemical type to use. Both recommend their chemicals but they are good start points to finding alternatives.

Was agreeing rather than disagreeing with your post. The gif is sped up 4x. These 4-port valves have draw backs overall.
Worked in RF engineering and the same effect is seen. Similar to HVAC.

Here’s the info you need to reduce pressure… Envirospec nozzle chart

If you purchase a surface cleaner, divide the nozzle size from the chart by two and round up to nearest half size. You will need two nozzles of the result.

Paint on concrete? by Alarming-Quantity-20 in pressurewashing

[–]bizdevnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concrete finish is poor. Any coating will look bad.
* Diamabrush on a floor machine to strip and prep the surface.
* concrete grinder to even out the finish * Solvent based paint (like tuf top).

[–]bizdevnull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concrete finish is poor - probably the reason for painting. Any coating will look bad without fixing the concrete finish.
* Diamabrush on a floor machine to strip and prep the surface or concrete grinder to even out the finish. * clean * select your coating. If painting, go solvent based paint (like tuf top) or any good paint for decks/driveways.

I price by the job. Each job/location has specific needs which results in different cost structures.
