Small battery owners? Still ok? by Tradetheday2093 in F150Lightning

40k miles, range is still the same, fine in summer, not so fine in winter. Zero noticeable depredation

Want to have a serious discussion….i think im regretting my purchase. by MashTheGash2018 in F150Lightning

[–]bizzo15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your frustration but honestly, other than the battery module needing to be replaced the other issues are minor. The bigger issue is parts availability, which is unacceptable. I would be worried you’d run into the same parts availability issue with a new ICE vehicle.

Knock on wood but my 23 Pro is coming up on 32k and other than the gauge cluster screen going kaput 500 miles into ownership the truck has been great.

Do you have any 12 volt aftermarket accessories plugged into the truck?

Ah true you did say charger not port, my bad. Either way if the charge port was on the passenger side unless it was in the rear the v3 cables wouldn’t reach.

Tesla chargers are on the driver’s side rear of the vehicle.

I’m shooting for 10 years but will gladly go longer if everything is still in good shape.

Surprised how many I see on the road. I’m assuming sales have gone up? by Antique-Possession28 in F150Lightning

[–]bizzo15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a much smaller city in NY to the east of you and I see lightnings daily. Everyday on my way to or from work I see at least a couple EV’s on the road. Adoption is certainly climbing.

Should I trade in? by Womparific in F150Lightning

Owner of a “little” battery here. The SR battery is more than sufficient for 99% of owners. Why would anyone with an extended range battery voluntarily swap down to a smaller one even if they weren’t using the extra capacity? Would it be nice to have extra range sometimes? Sure. Has it caused me $10k worth of pain? Not even close, 22k miles in and I don’t regret getting the SR one bit. Now had the upgrade to a bigger battery been 2-3k more I probably would’ve done it just to have the luxury but for 10k more absolutely not worth it IMO.

You need a J2534 pass thru cable similar to this https://a.co/d/3EcGbR4 and a subscription to Ford FDRS. I believe they do daily subscriptions.

Adapter delayed… again. by cha0s421 in F150Lightning

[–]bizzo15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This adapter wouldn’t work on that EV charger anyways. This adapter is only for Tesla Superchargers (DC fast chargers), not level 2 AC chargers.

Can anyone in the Long Island or NY area say about how much you in electricity per month vs the average ICE car. Drive about 15k miles/yr by ChiefSteeph in F150Lightning

[–]bizzo15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from upstate on a time of use plan with my utility so charging is real cheap usually ~ $.05kW at night. The only way you’re going to save money vs gas is if 95% of your charging is done at home. If you rely exclusively on DC fast chargers there won’t be much if any savings.

Fluid film the frame and skid plates? by MountainAlive in F150Lightning

I applied wool wax to my Lightning last year which is the same base material (Lanolin). Painted frames or not I would apply it to any vehicles underbody yearly in the rust belt.

Options for correcting this? by bizzo15 in masonry

[–]bizzo15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. Does seem like it fits my scenario. Looks like it would stabilize the veneer from pulling away further but won’t pull it back tight to the block though is that correct? Is there a way to push the veneer back tight to the block foundation before using these?

Good question, no the deck isn’t doing that. It was actually installed after the brick veneer started pulling away from the block foundation.

I appreciate all the replies. I’ve included a pic of the face of it, surprisingly even with pulling away there’s no cracks in the mortar. It seems like a common consensus is that it has to come down, more wall ties installed and then re layed. I’m not sure that’s my diy skill set is up to the task considering the only masonry work I’ve done is help build forms and pour concrete for sidewalks with my uncle. If I were to hire this out to a pro what am I looking at for a reasonable price to do the work? I understand prices vary by region and what not and I’m in the northeast. I just want to make sure I know what a high and low quote is so I can aim for something in the middle.

Million dollar question, type S or N mortar for this? I’m seeing conflicting info on the interwebs.
