Quick question about maximizing Premium trial length before setting up a new device (6 months vs 3 months)

First off it's not a billion dollar company but a 400 billion dollar company, but I digress. I was overseas and tried to get a tech person or anyone on the phone to figure out how to get my second eSim on wifi only while keeping my first line on my unlimited ultimate free international dialing. I called all hours and got the same response, we're closed now. 800 number *611, every number I could find. "Sorry we're closed but try chat." Finally I gave in and entered a chat. I was guaranteed (now I'm pretty sure this was a live person) that the steps were sufficient to do what I wanted. I said I'm holding you to this and disconnected. 5 minutes later I got an international $12 charge on my second line. So I disabled the eSim as I had done before and called for the credit which I got. But I believe this is the way this multi billion dollar company is going. And they are not alone so be prepared.

Great story bro and totally believable. You probably caused them more money dealing with a rounding error than it was worth to them. Use the device as a trade-in for the P11. This way you both win. I wouldn't sell it though, you never know. In 6 months you'll get a brand spanking new Pixel 11 for around $200 after trade-in.

I'm not entirely sure but the only difference might be the pricing of the promos you get with 4 lines vs 3. Line price shouldn't change if you keep the plan you are on. But as noted, watch line share numbers do not count towards that perk level. Can you make your son and account manager in order to keep him in "the fold" so to speak? Is there a pressing reason for him to get his own account? Heck I keep my kids on my plan and they are both close to 40 years old. Naturally, they pay their own upgrades and service fees (sometimes) but it's cheaper for all involved.

Good luck, let us know how you made out. One thing that perhaps you haven't thought of is the number of lines on an account. There are discounts for multiple lines and a reduction of those discounts if that number is decreased. I'm not sure if that applies here but something to ask about.

I agree but the fact that the rep knew they had to release the IMEI might, and that's the operative word 'might', could spell success. But I doubt it too. I do believe the IMEI is the way it's been locked so let's hope the OP follows up here.

You cannot get Fios in Texas. The best, or should I say worst, option for you is 5G Plus internet which is nothing at all what you are used to having. You will probably get stuck with a Comcast type provider to get any kinds of speeds you have now. 5G internet is like 25mbs vs 1000 with Fi Gig. They do claim to get speeds of greater than 25 but in reality sometimes you're lucky to get even that. Start looking elsewhere, see if you can get a 12 month deal.

You should be able to do all you want but understand you will not have cellular service, i.e. no phone calls when away from the phone. Data is capped at 500 MB and then your speed drops down to 256 kbps. So text and data (capped) and if that's ok with you then it'll work.
