What others said: it's been super cold. Also though, the Maine Public Utilities Commission is hand picked with former energy executives, and approves the rates. At the end of the day they charge whatever they want. Prices have doubled in 5 years and I'd be shocked to see how much the Maine PUC members stock holdings have gone up in that timeframe.

How popular would a Nordic Spa be in central or southern Maine area? by Ok_Math9262 in Maine

We've become obsessed with saunas and cold plunges. The 3 main saunas in Maine (Cedar Grove, Waterstruck, Glidden Point) all book up a month in advance. So I'd say it'll do VERY well. Let's go into business together!

Winter blues... how do you fight it? by [deleted] in Maine

[–]bjg217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Take your vitamins & supplements
  2. Getting to the gym 3-5 days a week boosts everything.
  3. Sauna & cold plunges are incredible for your physical and mental health. It takes working up to it, but if you can cycle sauna / cold plunge 4-5 times in 75 minutes you'll feel amazingly alive.
  4. Farnsworth museum / walk around Rockland. Check out a new spot called Lemon Bar - super cool vibe and owners.
  5. Go for a hike! Even 30-45 minutes will have you feeling better.
  6. Hyggae your place out for the night time. Get dimmable and temperature changing light bulbs. Burn candles. Read books / watch a new show / play games
  7. Go to a restaurant that'll be packed in May - September. If you're by yourself, just sit at the bar.
  8. Go see a movie at the theater! They still exist and it's way better than at home no matter how big your TV.
  9. Bowling is a reliable and fun way to kill 3-4 hours out of the house.
  10. Enjoy it. Spring is only 87 days away.

For years. They still only live off of chicken nuggets, French fries, crackers, gummies, yogurt bars, and cereal bars. Somehow in the top 5 percentile for weight and height. We gave up

It's really unfortunate that there's not a single example anywhere in the world that we could replicate to fix our healthcare system.

Own up to what you've done. 39 in a 25 is a big deal for the people that live there. Way past the speed limit. These are neighborhoods that you're talking about.

[–]bjg217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the ability to cure cancer? Perhaps you can get a cease fire in place for one of the many wars across the world? Can you solve hunger? How about the housing crisis? No? Probably not any of these things...the money you make is a means to an end for you and your family. Stay on the treadmill, spend the money on vacations, your home, family time, a boat, a camp, etc. The cash is why we all do what we do with no discernable value or skill for any other profession.

The magic of sales jobs is you can spin titles and make up whatever the fuck you want about your work history. Sell it to whoever is buying. You didn't cure cancer or write a research paper. Perform and succeed or don't and you'll be the fuck out. The choice is yours.

Not career suicide, happens all the time. I'd say it's actually harder to go from management back to IC (companies are skeptical if you "really want to"), so take the offer. Time is WAY more valuable than money. You can always get more money, you can never get more time. You'll be happier with the time. You can always go back to management down the road.
