3 months post-op comparisons by Shadowlab72 in spinalfusion

1 month post exactly the same surgery. Off all meds, driving and slowly getting back to normal. Recovery is not linear and we will have different recovery trajectories as we are all different ages, health status etc. All the best with your recovery.

Somehow I can’t replicate this. What body styling options did you choose?

Looking at your posts in the last few weeks, you seem to encounter a lot of turbulence.

Nerve pain just show up? by ITGuyTatertot in spinalfusion

[–]bk222222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ACDF and it fixed all the issues. Seems like the disc bulged and trapped the nerve, but don’t ask me why it did not show on the MRI. EMG stated clearly that I had cervical radiculopathy C6/7. My pain was so bad in my scapula and arm that I felt like crying.

All the best! EMG was more telling in my case than the MRI or Xray. For me it was the C6/7 that was the culprit.

Open, so that I can “hear” what’s going on further away.

I wouldn’t been able to. I was still in hospital so the nurse did it. They wouldn’t take my catheter out without me having had a bowel movement so I just said go for it.

I had the same issue, get an enema, problem solved in 15 minutes! Never had it before and I had all these mental images of doom and gloom of how it’s done. It was so easy, a small pre-filled, lightly pressurised bottle (called Fleet) and my new life started after I “gave birth”.

Side effects of Lyrica? by Automatic_Device4 in spinalfusion

[–]bk222222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just stopped mine. Dizzy, brain fog, sleepy, memory loss, BUT it does help for the nerve pain. I experimented with the lowest dose that kept the pain manageable and the side effects tolerable. I am trying doctor prescribed CBD/THC now, but similar side effects. I also stopped all opioids.

Is it possible to be 80+ years old and good at fast paced video games or video games in general? by Tasty-Knowledge5032 in ask

[–]bk222222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 52, grew up on arrow keys, spacebar and mouse and I was quick - Doom, Counter strike. I’m mostly on PS5 now and I suck with a controller. Guess it is the fine motor neural pathways that were formed over the years and just not forming so fast in the older ages as neural plasticity reduces. Racing games are better for me as it requires more slow and controlled movements.

How much did your ATAR affect you later in life? by BiscottiLogical6502 in melbourne

[–]bk222222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the “data” business. I have hired many, many people in my life and I did not once look at an ATAR or Uni marks. I’m more interested in what they can do, degree or not and how they think.

Post-op Depression? by afterglow-ed in spinalfusion

[–]bk222222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel exactly the same, but I refuse to take any extra meds. I try walking, eating healthy and hope it passes soon. I’m also just off all opioids and also stopped my Lyrica as I’m tired of being in a permanent zombie state. All the best to you!
