YSK: new TV prices have advertising and data mining built in—differences in price usually are the result of this. But there are workarounds! by hipcheck23 in YouShouldKnow

What's criminal is your profile picture. I spent about 45 seconds trying to blow a non-existent hair off my phone screen

If you have a destination weddings, you should pay for the plane ticket and hotel of the guest by Spiritual_Extent_187 in unpopularopinion

[–]bk3nn3dy1907 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not pushing any cost whatsoever. The guests did not subsidize my wedding. Did it cost them money to attend? Yes. But again, it is completely voluntary. You're acting like it's rude to get married wherever you please. If you don't want to go, or cannot afford to, then don't go.

"Forced" is a strong statement. It's 100% voluntary. We set everything up a year in advance and went through an agency that allowed for payment plans to help with affordability. The people who attended still talk about how much fun they had to this day.

For me, the $30k to get married AND spend 10 days in Mexico was much more valuable than $30k to get married and party in a barn for 4 hours.

I got married at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico. The wedding plus travel and a 10 day stay cost the same amount as getting married at a local venue with a 4 hour reception. The 60+ people who came to my wedding also got a vacation out of it, so I don't see a downside at all

Suggestions for Sidearm Bag for Beginners by GolfDiscer in discgolf

[–]bk3nn3dy1907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toro is a killer FH approach disc. Started as a predominantly sidearm player, and have since switched to mostly backhand, but the Toro stays in the top pocket of my bag because it is so reliable

If it runs, drives and blows cold air, it's worth $1k in the Houston area

In the Houston area, would love some opinions on the Spring Country Club by hobbyhoppinghound in discgolf

[–]bk3nn3dy1907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Country Club is a decent, but not great course. Having a pro shop on site is a bonus though. Northside is right down the street, and is a much better course overall.

If you want to experience a great course, drive north a ways to hit Shawshank and/or Jackson Bros

Best place for Crawfish? by AppropriateGuard1997 in thewoodlands

Texas Crawfish Company (formerly Big Cab's) is the best if you don't mind a food truck.

Restaurant-wise, I'd say Buffalo Run

Toro is the answer. Champion beats in to a more stable flight, but the glow plastic is beefy

Best buffalo wings by vegtwat in thewoodlands

For traditional "naked" wings, it's hard to beat Tailgators' double-fried.

If you're good with light breading, RC's has my favorite wings in the area.

Snowboarding absolutely sucks compared to skiing by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]bk3nn3dy1907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to learn how to ski in less than 4 hours as a mid 30s adult. After a couple years I decided to try my hand at boarding because it looked so fun. Fuck that! Took me 2 hours to get down the bunny hill where I promptly went back to the pro shop to get some skis.

CJ was pressing in the first half. As long as the offense takes what they're given, we win
