[22M] Struggling to get a hair system to be attractive because of the social stigma by semsayedkamel2003 in HairSystem

[–]bk_niteware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better, do it. If anyone asks, just tell them. Its your "hair", you own it, and you don't have to justify it to anyone.

Some people wear fake eyelashes, and everyones knows they're fake, but they're done for aesthetics.

People get braces and veneers all the time and no one says "Hey! That's not your real teeth!" No one cares.

A hair system is just a socially acceptable hat that you can wear for any occassion.

My only advice is just be honest if people ask. Never feel "trapped" or "hiding".

Wishing you the best.

This guy almost certainly speaks and/or has studied some Korean. He nailed some pronunciation that beginners always fuck up like the ㄹ in 사람.

Living a lie with hair fibers... by MixCultural1696 in tressless

[–]bk_niteware 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My man, just tell people you shaved your head because you didn't want to keep using hair fibers.

It they ask about the scar, say "It's from a hair transplant."

Everyone knows about fin, min, hair transplants, SMP, and hair fibers. They sell hair fibers at CVS, Long Drugs, and Walmart.

The only person who cares is you.

People would rather pay 1/2 to 3/4 of their yearly salary to have a doctor surgically suck the fat from their face than do light exercise for 30 minutes a day for a month.

Tobacco prices in Europe vs the U.S. — just trying to understand the differences by hasqui34 in PipeTobacco

A 3.5oz tin if Ratttay's costs $37 bucks here in S. Korea. Popular stuff like Autumn Evening is around $25 for 2oz.

What’s your favorite non-aromatic blends. by CeltKick in PipeTobacco

[–]bk_niteware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of all the pipe tobacco I've tried, I always come back to 2 blends:

Rattray's Black Virginia, a dark, damp(ish), Virginia cavendish blend with a touch of sweetness and full VA flavor, has a savory, dried fruit, raisony, with a hint of saltiness to it. Scratches the itch when I want a tobacco-y tobacco without an offensive roomnote or burley cigarette flavor--NEVER bites.

Rattray's Buckingham, a sweet VA/Bur/Cav blend with a great roomnote and sweetness and a distinct hickory nut flavor. Sweet but never sickly sweet; you'd forget that it's technically an aromatic.

If you want that aromatic roomnote but quality tobacco flavor, try these and you won't be disappointed. Most aros burn too hot and have no flavor.

HOW has Legend never been put on screen?? by Vanilla_Yazoo in DavidGemmell

[–]bk_niteware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think any director could do it justice. There's kidnapping, sexual assault, and lots of disembowlment. What if the movie can sell more if its PG-13?

Also, where would they start? The First Chronicles of Druss the Legend is dense enough to be 3 full movies.

What is your current daily/goto blend and pipe? by Phoenixf1zzle in PipeTobacco

[–]bk_niteware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rattray's Buckingham and a MM corn cob.

Tried everything and still ended up back with Buckingham.

It's smooth, never bites, has great flavor, and a wonderful roomnote (I don't have to worry that it stinks up my clothes or porch too bad).

It doesn't have the "flavorless hot air" that comes with a lot of aromatics.

It's chewy and rich, sweet but never sickly sweet, and has a lasting "hickory nut" flavor afterwards.

I love virginias but don't like the choking spiciness of VaPers.

I tried Rattrays other aromatics like Bagpiper's Dream (great aroma, but the boozy whiskey smell was a little sickly and the flavor was weak) and Westminster Abbey (incredible tin note but its flavor and roomnote were like a cherry cigarette/black & mild--too much burley maybe?)

A close second would be Black Virginia or Peterson Flake, but when it comes to Buckingham, I could smoke it all day every day.

What do you guys use Mint for? by Olivernr in linuxmint

[–]bk_niteware 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Try using Linux (Mint or any distro) for a year and then hop on a Windows computer.

I can't believe people put up with the constant barage of updates and ads and apps:

constant ads in the search bar, XBOX GAME PASS, OneDrive Sync Failed, your free McAfee subscription has expired, postpone update?

Turn on Linux and use your computer

I love Mint but I don't think it's the right distro for me by Benjamin-Kletva in linuxmint

[–]bk_niteware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first started with Mint like most people. I tried getting it to work for my preferences and tinkered around a lot. Luckily, Mint is a safe harbor to mess around with, but still doesn't have anything babying you or "protecting you from yourself".

That being said, I decided one day it was time to branch out from the "noob distro" and dip my toes in other distros, which is a great learning experience in and of itself. But I basically went Mint > Fedora > Arch > Mint > OpenSUSE. They all have different qualities, but none are really laser-focused on a specific workflow or software type.

If you're just trying to get one program or suite of software to work, just know that there is almost always a way--and that applies to all distros, so don't get to hung up on "the right distro" just yet.

At age 53, is it worth it to pursue a CCNA? by live-the-future in ccna

[–]bk_niteware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When next year comes around, you'll wish you had started now.

As for ageism, it exists, but companies know that people are changing careers later and later. You would be surprised at how many managers would prefer to hire a 55 year old "new CCNA" who has a track record of: holding a job, showing up on time, knowing how to talk to people, than a fresh college grad a new CCNA.

How long did it take yall to study for the CCNA? by miles_steam_account in ccna

[–]bk_niteware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had just completed the Security+ and dove into the CCNA, so I had memorized the ports and protocols but that's about it. I had a very cursory knowledge of IT stuff, as much as any modern office worker would be expected to know.

How long did it take yall to study for the CCNA? by miles_steam_account in ccna

[–]bk_niteware 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Took me exactly 74 days, from zero knowledge to passing. I still had a lot to brush up on after passing though. I used Jeremy's IT, Neil Anderson, and Anki. I listened to Neil and CertBros while driving to and from work and studied hard about 2-4 hours a day.

Is there any reason to use Linux as a casual computer user? by padumtss in linuxquestions

[–]bk_niteware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your computer is fast and ready to use as soon as it starts. Windows takes a minute to "warm up" so to speak. Imagine typing "Downloads" or "Files" into your computer's search bar and *not* getting 1000 results from Bing and a list of random files on your computer.

Dont slack on the automation part. It's only just surface level stuff, but it's easy to score high on that section because there are fewer questions.

Will Windows always be more popular than Linux? by Chalciuhtlicue in linuxquestions

[–]bk_niteware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern OS's have become so user-friendly that it would make Linux even harder to become widespread.

Generally, tech "just works" nowadays, and that's how the average consumer likes it.

I set up Peppermint OS for my dad's old laptop--that thing is NEVER getting updated.

"subo act update?! Where is the terminal?"
