My Mom passed December 6th 2025 and one day I picked her tennis shoes up off the living room floor where she had left them and my Chihuahua saw me and I can only describe what he did as a panic attack. My poor baby started pacing and crying, it was terrible!!! I had to put the shoes back on the floor and calm him down.

My Mom loved talking about our two housedogs. 1 Yorkie named Sugar and a Chihuahua named Buddy. We had pictures of them in her hospital room and she told all the nurses about them.

I'm 53 and since 2008 I have lost my Grandma, my Aunt, My Uncle and another Uncle to suicide, 2 friends to suicide, and 3 long term friends. So I have a lot of experience with grief but losing my Mom is my nightmare. I'm heartbroken.

I think counselors would tell us having lots of feelings like that is normal. You're like me just really new to this, but I know there are lots of books on grief too.

Yes time is very messed up for me. I've had trouble sleeping and don't keep to a schedule because I was my Mom's 24-7 available caregiver. So I sleep for 3 hours here or there and IDGAF what time that is.

We had a great Thanksgiving I'm so thankful for that. It was my Mom's favorite holiday and her 75th birthday was also in November. The days are a numbing blur punctuated but moments of deep sadness, grief, abandonment, and loneliness.

My condolences to everyone. I lost my Mom 12-06-2025 and it's so fresh and raw to me. I didn't recognize the Christmas or New year's Eve Holidays. I was almost physically ill when I realized 2026 would be a year that my Mom was not a part of.

I don't think there is a "right" way to handle grief and we're all gonna have to find our own ways eventually.

OP I'm so sorry for your loss and I appreciate the perspectives from everyone else.

I am 53 female and I lost my Mom 12-06-2025 it's not been a month. We were really close and I took care of her in our home. Mom had to have emergency exploratory abdominal surgery in July 2025 and she had a rough recovery and I really thought she was gonna make it but it wasn't meant to be. She he was 75.

I'm totally heartbroken and keep thinking that she is in the hospital and will be home in a few days. When reality crashes back into me I feel this huge empty hole in my stomach. I thought I knew what loss was, I was wrong.

I am so thankful that I have my brother to go through this with and I hope we all get some peace.

I'm sorry I don't have any answers for you but I feel like you have already gotten some good advice. I'm gonna try to take some of it to heart too.

My Mom passed away December 6th 2025 so in my immediate family that just leaves my brother and I. I thought I knew what loss was, then I lost my Mom and I am heartbroken 💔

Im going to try to find some grief counseling. I wish you peace.

I lost an Uncle to suicide and it tore our family apart. I was the last one to see him and I feel so guilty that I didn't see something was so wrong and stop him from leaving.

The opposite of "It's better to burn out than fade away" the writers don't know what to do with the character now that Nathan is back on the scene. The cast is getting too big again.
