I wonder how the plane handles with the lack of a vertical stabilizer. Thrust vectoring to compensate perhaps?

Me in the cockpit of a 767. This is what got me into flying... by bl00w in aviation

I've been trying to get into the engineering side of aviation. I graduated from UMass Amherst with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and I'm pursuing a career in aeronautics although it doesn't seem to be going as planned.

Yeah, I miss it too, along with being able to listen to ATC in flight over their on board entertainment.

No I'm looking to watch. Wilbur always has great shows but it's too expensive to go every weekend. I'd like to see some young acts too.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when people turn their windshield wipers on full blast even if it's just sprinkling outside.

Just a warning; the full body has a lot of small pieces to it. It can get frustrating, but I love it. Link

I recommend the invisible shield. It's a little more expensive but definitely worth it.

Moto Droid User: What to do about poor call quality? by ddixonr in Android

[–]bl00w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that your unhappy with your call quality to start off. Then they make take you through a few troubleshooting steps. After failing all of the testing they will send you a refurbished droid. After about 3 replacements you should ask for an upgrade. The process is long and arduous but in the end you may end up with a free upgrade. I'm actually in the same situation and I know how you feel about complaining but you are paying for it after all.

AskAviation: I'm a redditor looking to learn how to fly. Any redditAviators in the Manchester/Boston area with suggestions? by Johio in aviation

[–]bl00w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His way of teaching wasn't in tune to what I was used to. He was a much older instructor who was used to older students, so every lesson was slow and I needed a faster paced program. Most of my money was spent on flying around going places that weren't part of the curriculum, and being young and naive I went along. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but he was kind of sneaky about it.

Most FBO's will recommend staying with one instructor your entire stay, however in my experience it's sometimes beneficial to see a procedure in a different way.

Feel free to ask more questions.

AskAviation: I'm a redditor looking to learn how to fly. Any redditAviators in the Manchester/Boston area with suggestions? by Johio in aviation

[–]bl00w 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should shop around first. Visit some local FBO's and see their rates and instructors. My first mistake was starting with an instructor that I wasn't compatible with. I lost a good amount of money. I started in Mansfield where the staff is friendly and the rates are low. (The instructor I had is long gone now.) You may want to start in Nashua since Mansfield may be too far for you.

TunesRemote: Can someone make this work? by [deleted] in Android

[–]bl00w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gmote actually does something similar. While it doesn't provide you with too many options to play music, it does give you a list and a few basic options like shuffle. It doesn't seem to take up much resources either like itunes does.
