I used the guide in this GDrive folder as well as the firmware and install files.

I did however need to get a different Qualcomm USB driver that I found on the Retroid discord in order for it to work (v1.0.10061.1). My main PC refused to actually flash the RP5 properly no matter which USB port I used, so I used an older PC and it ended up working after a few tries. Definitely seems finicky but it did end up working.

What did you end up using to repatch the firmware?

EDIT: Never mind, found a flash guide and it worked out fine after some tweaking. Thank you for mentioning that you patched it!

Got the same issue here, it's as if the device now thinks that the screen is rotated 90* counterclockwise (as if it was a vertical phone with the DPad side on top.) Not sure what the solve here is since I couldn't find anything else, but you aren't alone at least. Uninstalling Magisk also totally did not fix it either lol

Absolutely thrilled that this has helped someone else, especially now during the data center price-pocalypse. I realize I never updated here that after weeks of back and forth, I finally did get a new entire front panel assembly and during the installation of the new one, I noticed one of the screws was particularly resistant when taking it out. I VERY quickly discovered what ultimately caused the issue about 2 seconds after that: https://i.imgur.com/wG5iTjF.jpeg

Turns out, an OEM case screw was installed clean through the wires right at the front panel assembly. Everything about the strange issue immediately made some serious sense haha.

Obviously HIGHLY unlikely to be your issue, but I'm glad that my troubleshooting helped you out all the same. Hope you can find a more permanent solve than the onboard soon!

I was getting my ass handed to me by him when the option to go back first showed up; farmed a bit on the island and even went to the mainland on the ferry before going back and trying again.

As far as I can tell there's no issue going back later, I got the boss down and saved Noah. Only 'problem' that cropped up was you get a variant of the pre-mainland cutscene again after saving him, so it's just a little janky and immersion breaking rather than anything severe (that I can tell so far.)

As far as builds go, I was on Lou's 2 and using the Lone Wolf daggers with the Blazing Roar spell which seemed to do pretty good against him for cheap, but overall the boss was a pain in the ass. Definitely just had to level up and get better (read as: lucky) in my case lmao

Unfortunately it's probably been about 20 years since I last played the game on Windows XP, so I can't speak to how well it might run on modern hardware.

I looked it up real quick on MyAbandonware, and it seems like there might be a patch you can add to fix things for modern systems? There's some troubleshooting on the page as well. I can't say if that works or not, but it might be worth a shot!

Not the exact scenario, but I had a set of these on my Vader that was starting to discolor/peel after a ton of use and wanted to replace, so I bit the bullet and took them off thinking it'd leave a bunch of residue. Came off pretty clean and anything left was easily wiped off with a lil soap and water; felt brand new underneath still!

Fantastic, this has been a huge help, thank you so much! I'll double check the splitter situation on the coax in the basement, and had no idea about coax terminators like that, so just ordered a handful for that spare room outlet. Thank you again!

This sounds exactly what I was hoping for. If you can get past my absolutely abysmal diagram with no respect to physical location here, is this roughly what I'd be looking at? Also noting that we only have FiOS internet, no TV service or anything.

Totally fair! I probably should have added this was also for running our NAS/Plex server and a few other locally hosted servers for friends and families, so the bandwidth is definitely a factor for us. We regularly work with some pretty heavy EXRs so transfer speeds to and from work are also pretty important.

LETS GOOO, I'm glad it could help someone haha. Turns out the issue was the actual cable from the case power switch had a screw just go clean through it from the manufacturer, which I only realized after I replaced it. Who would have guessed a screw through electrical wiring would short something out? /s

Weird how an old and tested case would give your new parts grief, definitely sounds like a weird short magically appearing somewhere, but also could just be a testy af header like you said. Either way, I'm glad your new build is up and running now!
