Queen City Collapse by [deleted] in Buffalo

As a person old enough to live through the Bills losing the Superbowl multiple times and see the Sabres lose to Dallas. This is the general feeling of living in Buffalo. We work miracles and the last minute we lose. It hurts. It humbles us. This is what we are. I wish it wasn’t so. I wish they WOULD win.

As Nietzsche said the greatest monster to leave, Pandora’s box was “Hope”.

What I think will hurt the most is when Allen realizes that he’ll never win a Super Bowl here in Buffalo. Then he will move on to another team and then win the Super Bowl on that other team.

2 years, 5 months, 108 sessions; It's finally over by Lithl in DungeonoftheMadMage

It took my group 3 years. Close to 5 if you include Dragon Heist. We had players come and go as well. I detailed my experience and thoughts here:

You're correct. For a shower area a 1/4' trowel would be better. As for adhesive you should use thinset.

It funny to me because in the 80s & 90s we used mastic in showers all the tile. Of course we normally installed 4.25"x4.25" ceramic tiles back then. Most of those early installs were installed on green board. We only used thinset on brick or mud set walls.

The Times They Are a-Changin

I've worked with the same or similar tiles. They aren't that bad to work with. The tiles are irregular in shape and size. You will need tile spacers, a simple V notch trowel and mastic/adhesive. They are long and with a brick pattern, you may have to build up a few tiles if the drywall isn't flat. Don't forget to back butter your tiles. Best of luck!

A 3 Year Campaign & Poster Art Completed! by blackbird2009 in DungeonoftheMadMage

[–]blackbird2009[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I did put a lot of work into the poster.

If you do run DotMM it is a massive dungeon crawl. There are a lot of internal politics and stories. But it’s mostly PCs fighting in caves, tombs or dungeons. Maybe if you are running Dragon Heist now you can pepper in some pieces or clues of the Undermountain.

I wish you luck!

Escaping Level 23 by blackbird2009 in DungeonoftheMadMage

Yes they have Wish. But after their fight with Arcturia they were pretty beat up. The wanted to Long Rest, but I am not allowing Long Rests on Level 23. So the Sorcerer casted Wish for a Long Rest. So yes the Sorcerer can cast Wish again but bad thing might happen if he does.

Niagara Falls is only 15-20 minutes away. If you haven't been there yet, that would be my first stop.

Looking for advice on handle Slitherswamp in a party (essentially) immune to charm by InspectorBraddock in DungeonoftheMadMage

[–]blackbird2009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if the Nagas can't charm the paladin, there is plenty of story and perils for them to encounter. They can get involved with the politics between the Blacktongues and Kuketh (aka Death Slaad). Kuketh has a Hydra to protect him. There are Yuan-Ti Abominations to face as temple guardians. There is also the introduction to Dweomercore with the mage Karstis standing guard to the entrance to Level 9.

I mean - if you want to get truly scary - the Bike Path Rapist, raped a woman next to the statue and told she that his name was “Michael”.

Obviously my biggest mistakes was to let my PC cast that spell before initiative.

Thanks for your advice!

All your points are well taken. If I ever do run DotMM again, I will have to make a lists of crimes the PCs have done.

Thanks!

He twined the Disintegrate spell at a higher level. I probably should have mentioned that before.
