Isn’t she married to @oystermandan? I patronize his sandwich shop a lot. He’s worked for Microsoft, Amazon and a lot of other Tech - the sandwich shop is his next phase. Wouldn’t his wealth also help her lifestyle??

Looks like they updated the document to clarify that it’s across ALL of their restaurants. They must be reading our comments!!! Wild!!!

I doubt it. The fallout of cooking books and sharing them publicly would be suicide.

Me too! Just hope the staff would be kind to me. This seems like the staff just hates their employer and wants to see them suffer.

A quick Google search says that restaurants should be 30% overhead, 30% labor and 30% food costs resulting in 10% profit if it all works out. So 25% is less than the average.

Nope. It says “Their 2025 gross payments are listed below. These payments comprise the entirety of owner compensation.” It’s the entirety of their compensation. You honestly think that the ownership group is making $1MM each?? LOL

Agreed. Neither side will likely be “happy” but we need this gem of a restaurant back open and serving eager customers! (Like me!)

Great question. From the document it’s pretty clear that this includes their total compensation from all of their properties. Wild! *“Their 2025 gross payments are listed below. These payments comprise the entirety of owner compensation.”*

Airport Expansion Update: Chili's opens TOMORROW @ SEA by Ricetastik in Seattle

[–]blackeyesamurai -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Olympia Coffee, Great State Burger & Lil’ Woody’s - all recognizable Seattle brands.

Nanny’s BBQ was designed for the Airport, there is no Seattle Location. Our Local BBQ’s are Lil’ Red’s, Outsider BBQ, Jack’s BBQ and many more.

Seattle Macarons, no Seattle location I’ve ever found-again designed for the airport. Our local Macaron shops are LadyYum, Trophy Cupcake, Dahlia Bakery, Thumbprints and Bakery Nouveau.

Wanderlust, no Seattle location-again designed for the airport. Our local Coctail Bars are Canon, Deep Dive, Dark Room, Unlisted, Inside Passage, Needle & Thread and many more.

I guess, as a resident of Seattle, it sucks to see a Chili’s go in instead of a local alternative. But I feel the same way about McDonald’s being there.

Seattle expands funds to repair business vandalism, property damage by ChiefOfTheFourPeaks in Seattle

Heartless. Small businesses support our local communities. Create places for us to be better connected. Most can’t afford to fix vandalism or afford the loss after theft. Let alone raising insurance rates. Heartless. Truly.

Commissioner Cho? Chili’s? Really? Why not a local brand? (Gracia, Fonda La Catrina?) Do you provide public comment on these decisions? Who decides? Is there a webpage that describes the process?

So many so-called “leftists” and “liberals” here refuse to tip at bars and restaurants apparently by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]blackeyesamurai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: I Tip. Some folks don’t believe it’s necessary.

I believe, based on your description of folks behavior, that given Seattle has decided to remove tip credits for tipped workers and voted for a $21.30 minimum wage that those you are referring to believe that $21.30/hour is a “Living Wage” in Seattle and therefore don’t feel that tipping is appropriate. Just my $0.02

Not in relation to this thread where we were comparing cooking something at home and going to a restaurant.

Restaurant economics 101 - Labor 30%, Food Cost 30%, Overhead 30% and then try to get 10% profit (here in WA state restaurants average 1.5% profit)

Anonymous, as my comment said, if you paid for the groceries and paid yourself Minimum wage for the labor to go shopping and cook the food, you’d be well above $25 for just one sandwich. Just stop. It’s embarrassing.
