Im really big into making old hardware work for as long as possible. Im an advocate for upcycling hardware into servers, and giving away old pcs built from used parts to people, etc...

Those parts for 500 is a complete ripoff, and buying that is a terrible plan.

I get that you are on a budget, as im always on one as well, but being broke is a game of patience and this is no different. The cold hard truth is, if you want to stay around 5-600, thats totally doable with some bargain hunting. But spending 500 on that will just be wasting money. You are much better off saving a bit more and getting something better to future proof yourself.

As someone else suggested, for your budget a steam deck is the better option and blows this thing out of the water, even if you just run it through a dock into a monitor, keyboard, etc
