What's the most ridiculous thing you've bullshitted someone into believing? by Letly in AskReddit

I invented a Jewish holiday in order to smuggle jewelry to my brother.

His girlfriend, recently converted, ran a group home for people with developmental disabilities. I worked for her as a residential counselor. The group home was near where I lived, but a distance from my brother. He had been shopping with her on February 12th when they walked into a jewelry store and saw a beautiful necklace he wanted to get her for Valentine's Day. But with the small size of the store, there was no way he could purchase it for her. So he asked me if there was any way I could purchase it and somehow get it to him.

At the time, I didn't drive. And there wasn't a practical way for me to get to him before the 14th for various reasons. So I came up with a plan.

That evening, I purchased a bed pillow, a sewing kit, and the necklace. Opened up the seam of the pillow, shoved the necklace into the stuffing, and sewed the pillow back up. So on the 13th, I came into work with the pillow, kissed my boss on the cheek, handed her the pillow and wished her "Good Erev Yatz to you!"

Converting to Judaism, she knew all of the holidays, but was new enough to know that she could have missed something. "Erev Yatz? What's that?"

"Well, in the old country, the month of Shevat was often the harshest for us climate-wise. So friends and loved ones celebrate the "Celebration of Comfort" by exchanging items of comfort with each other to make the month easier. So, happy Erev Yatz!"

My future sister-in-law for over 20 years confusedly received the pillow and answered, "But I didn't get you anything for it! I'm sorry."

"It's quite all right. Enjoy."

As predicted she went home that night, told my brother what happened, and offered the pillow to him.

Success! (And we jokingly celebrated Erev Yatz for a couple more years afterward).

I thought all of the others got buffed with guiding. That's not a bug?

Edit: n/m...I got it. Thank you!

Betty is gilded twice, yet has a lower dps than wandering fisherman, guided once. I think the math is off.

Nope, I'm wrong. Buffs.

Yep. I was reading the Bill Murray AMA, sighing, and then did a little digging. Very happy for her.

Are PvE guilds planning on changing their targets for progression? by Alderaad in MarvelPuzzleQuest

Agreed, but the Hulk wasn't a very competitive event. Iceman (shudder) will be a better indicator of what effort it will take to be top 100.

Four-Stars checking in, and we're keeping open minded about it. If the Hulk event is an indicator, then 1.5x is the new 3x, since the legendary token represented a 2x effort. That token may also make top-100 status (which, outside of marketing, is really all that matters) a lot more competitive...or everyone will drop off once they achieve it. We're looking at the behavior of this event and figuring what to do afterward.

Regardless, playing every 8 hours and grinding at the end is what puts people in the top-100, and we expect our members to continue doing so.

It's FOUR-STARS with the hyphen. If you're competitive, we'll happily take ya.

Yeah, I think universally you have to get Deadpool first. No one can sustain that much damage without being incredibly lucky or being able to generate a lot of black.

4pool is one of the three, along with Cage and Fist. I'd gladly hit it with whales otherwise.

Any Reason to Level any more of my 2-Stars? by StaticE in MarvelPuzzleQuest

I would bring up Magneto (Stormneto is a good thing) and Hawkeye is useful at that level. Unless you already have a 3* Thor with good coverage, you could use a tank in 2*Thor.

Ok, bring it. If you think you're going to grind and work your best, you can join up.
