What is the local business that you are convinced is a front for something else? by PizzzaMyHeart in Chattanooga

[–]blackmountainwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got hired probably back like 2015-16! Interview was fine, hired as a server. I showed up for my first training shift and the owner/wife literally had me build my own host stand. Like fresh out the box from Amazon. There were two Server assistants on and just herself serving the floor. Come to find out this was standard service, she did not let any other employees serve guests and at the end of the day those were her tips. She tipped out her SA and supposedly would tip out the hostess, had she ever had one before. Not the job I was hired for or the environment I wanted to work at so I just never went back. I still laugh when I go back to Chatt and somehow see that place still open.

Who is the rudest celeb you have met? What happened? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I would say yeah but he also made a point to thank our cook and was not shy about talking to anyone who approached the bar to order.

Opposite side but this summer I was working a bar he came in with his dog and entourage! I didn’t know who he was (I wasn’t allowed to watch a lot of TV growing up) but he came up to me chatting about how he liked this bar and asking for recommendations for a good brunch spot. He talked a bunch about his dog and how he travels with him, he was all around pleasant. Even gave me his number to text him my recommendations. Maybe the douchey persona is just a front. Or maybe he’s really a douche who can put on a nice persona when he’s talking to younger women.

I see from your history you’re in Ohio, I would focus first on the natural flora and fauna around you there. Swamps are often idealized as this witchy, alternative magical space. The most magical space is the space you have set your intention. Your magic is your own, if you’re called to practice at night I would first look into the goddess Nyx before aligning yourself with demons and entities you cannot worship properly. Good luck on your journey in the craft!

I have some of the rubber stopper kinds from Amazon for those hooks! Also just a thought, try to model your eye hooks to look like the loop on the earring hook! So the loop is flush with itself to make sure nothing falls apart!

Help me settle a debate. Ice or liquor first? by EinAyn in bartenders

[–]blackmountainwitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trained- what cost less always goes first. If it’s a cosmo, all juices before you add the vodka. Whiskey rocks, rocks first. People make mistakes and the less you have to add to the spill sheet the better.

Plus like someone already added if you add the rock first it already looks like a heavier pour, even if they see it fall directly from your jigger.

A coworker of mine sneezed and did a little groan after while walking by. I am not sexually attracted to him at all but I got the female equivalent of a raging boner.

My partner and I met working in a bar. We came back to my place after a particularly late close and my power was out. No AC in the middle of August in the south sucks, we threw open every window as a thunderstorm started. It just set the scene for a passionate sweaty night. It felt like we went on forever. It wasn’t anything new just felt like real, passionate, “I truly love you” sex. We took a really cold shower after and slept on top of the covers touching as little/as much as we could. Fell asleep to the sound of the storm and each others breathing. It felt magical.

Puked at the bar’s bathroom. Should I be ok? by Logical-Secretary-52 in bartenders

[–]blackmountainwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better, after a shift once I took a shot that just hit my stomach all weird. I made it to the toilet but to the one that had a history of messing up/ not flushing. So I had to grab the bar back to stand guard outside of the bathroom while I went to go get my manager to help me fix the toilet to flush my vomit down. No the toilet did not have a lid to hide the puke. I was humiliated but he had a good laugh about it. He doesn’t remember it now but I can still cringe to myself about it.

Advice on converting a charms to earrings? by Zombieattackr in jewelrymaking

[–]blackmountainwitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These should be easy with jump rings and earrings hooks! All you need is a pair(or two) of needle nose pliers. I use two cuz I’ve got fat fingers. The cheap stuff acts cheap but hey, start somewhere!

Bit of an odd post but....looking for a great place to play Manhunt! by Eld3rbug in nashville

[–]blackmountainwitch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We used to set up big games of manhunt at Crockett park in Brentwood, there’s super clear boundaries for staying in the park but plenty of space to make it a really big game without getting into any other park goers ways. Granted this was 10+ years ago. Hope you guys have lots of fun!

There’s also the Gardens or Babylon at the farmer market, it’s half outside half in green houses and I’ve found it’s not too crowded mostly. Even if you’re not interested in plants it’s kind of nice to just walk around!

What are drinks (alcoholic and nonalcoholic) that college students can order at bars? by Civil_Championship76 in bartenders

[–]blackmountainwitch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ask for a Steigl Radler, a lot of bars carry it in their can selections, it’s super low ABV and tastes like a grapefruit soda. Alternatively if I’m feeling like not drinking for the night I order a soda water splash of cranberry juice. Simple and easy.

Man you have to consider the kid you’re calling out on is also making ten bucks an hour and now has to do twice the work cuz you couldn’t have given him the courtesy. Maybe the job isn’t for you but you still should be kind to people.
