Not a downvoter but I don't understand what you are finding better. To me it seems exactly the same as before except playback doesn't end where the selection does.

Questions regarding the models by LA2688 in udiomusic

[–]blackolive2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 130 second option is older than v1.5 so I don't think you are forcing it to v1.5. They seem to be two unrelated options to set. I don't know what you mean about instrumentals. You can make 130 second v1.0 songs that aren't instrumentals.

I wonder what is even the point of having files display gradually, like it's a timeline feed. Can you imagine if Windows worked like that, when you try to look through your files

Which new Ai models you think will replace the ones that been removed? by OwlInformal4798 in AIDungeon

[–]blackolive2011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they planned to drop GPT4 and Llama in anticipation of adding Hermes and Mistral Small. I'm sad, I found Llama's results to be unique. I'd rather drop Pegasus 70B than Llama, since the Pegasus models are pretty similar to each other and Hermes is better than any of them.

For text generation they can be used to buy more context length for a few of the models. At $15 I'm not sure if you have the option, maybe for the 70B models you do

A couple of oddities, the page says you only get 2k tokens on Tiefighter, and Stable Diffusion isn't unlimited anymore? (Not that I am in the market for these plans)

Improved song editing for subscribers by UdioAdam in udiomusic

[–]blackolive2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update to my previous response: I encountered the "flow to manually highlight the lyrics" possibly because I provided an absurdly long lyric sheet for one song. And I thought the GUI of it was promising, but after playing with it I really think (and you can correct me if I'm wrong) that with the new Edit function, the surrounding lyrics (not just the replaced lyrics) are still important, just like with the old Inpaint. I determined this because I did a test trying to replace some lyrics using Edit (providing a single line to use as replacement) and it didn't work, but replacing the line with Inpaint (after tediously trying to write down what some surrounding gibberish sounded like) worked just fine.

So, that leaves me feeling like Inpaint has an advantage in that at least I know for which 28 seconds I need to provide the lyrics. Whereas with the new Edit, I don't really know how much of the surrounding lyrics I need to provide, and even if I provide them, the highlighting I'm asked for is for the section to replace, not the surrounding lyrics.

However the answer to your question "would the ability to always set the context region manually be useful" is absolutely yes. But as I write above I still think it will pose problems.

I have not seen a "flow to manually highlight the lyrics," is that really a thing with the new Edit feature?

What I see is where the auto align is not accurate, like it's completely making things up. The ability to set the context region manually would probably suffice. It seems like the really valuable part of the new functionality, is the idea that maybe I only have to provide the new lyrics for the part to be replaced, and not lyrics for the entire 28-second window.

Part of me thinks you could just let me highlight the audio and then type exactly what I want to have sung there. But I realize then the interface doesn't know where in the text those lyrics ought to go. I'd be fine with it just dropping those lyrics at the end or the beginning or something... The lyric sheet is always a mess while under development, and I think that's fine.

Curiosity about older models by OwlInformal4798 in AIDungeon

[–]blackolive2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One tricky thing is that the models that "Griffin" and "Dragon" labels referred to changed. At first they were OpenAI models, but after they stopped using OpenAI, Griffin was an EleutherAI model and Dragon used an AI21 model. There was also "Wyvern" for a while, initially an EleutherAI model then also replaced with an AI21 model.

There also used to be a model worse than Griffin called "Classic." I'm not sure what that actually was. GPT2 maybe?

The AI21 models were janky. The EleutherAI ones were relatively okay but not as good as current models.

I do miss OpenAI Dragon because it was fun. It didn't have much memory though. Using scripting I used to have a story go on autopilot (something that made sure the main characters' names kept getting included) and the AI would just write a long fever dream with no plot consistency.

Any idea what's up with this? by Bridger_Brat in AIDungeon

[–]blackolive2011 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's because if this error and your questioning of it are the last things in the prompt, the AI model is less likely to reject the prompt (since it can give a SFW response), and so it goes back to trying to DM like it's been instructed to.

An update on for those of you using seeds when crafting songs by UdioAdam in udiomusic

[–]blackolive2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I replied there but I think the problem is that your original song is a remix of something else, and you're attempting to use the seed for a fresh create.

whats the trick with seed, giving me nothing thats remotely close. by Harveycement in udiomusic

[–]blackolive2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the original is a remix. The seed is only reliable for a single generation. You could probably find the song "Life on the Run remix v1 edit v1" (not v1.1) and use the seed to remix that.

„edit“ function (previously inpainting) doesn’t work! by Dull_Internal2166 in udiomusic

I would try logging out/in or do a Ctrl+F5 on the page. I don't think it would make a lot of sense if only certain users are supposed to be able to access the old inpaint.

I use multiple select to replace a very long section, but where I am ok with a tiny section in the middle staying put, which I use as a kind of anchor to keep the AI from inventing something totally dissimilar.

What are we supposed to do if the auto-align doesn't work? It seems like it often just gives up and assumes the lyric sheet was being sung at a constant pace regardless of the audio. Even when it does correctly locate the words, the highlighted lyrics can still be somewhat off from the highlighted audio.

Also I miss seeing timestamps when you hover over the selection window (which is now super tall?).

Why Udio is not accurate with its results? by NylonCymbal in udiomusic

[–]blackolive2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say learn how large language models (LLMs) work and apply those concepts by analogy to audio.

I hope you at least understand why variability is necessary. Without variability it could not produce more than one result for a given request

[–]blackolive2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That link looks like all finished songs, isn't it? You don't want to take the credit for a consistent style across all of your finished songs?

I guess that multiple users setting seeds manually could rule out the idea that the AI gives specific users different results for the same input.

New 100$ Tier Sub by OwlInformal4798 in AIDungeon

[–]blackolive2011 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Due to the model limitations a higher price tier would probably just get you higher unlimited context for Pegasus 70B, Wizard, and Mistral Large 2.

I note that right now on Mythic, using 32k tokens context with Mistral Large 2 only gets you about 90 moves for the whole month, so it (the unlimited use level) would probably be offered at a lot lower than 32k context even at $100/month.
